Story
** PLEASE READ HIS DESCRIPTION BEFORE CALLING/APPLYING! ** His super cute looks are deceiving! Roger is a "project dog"! Which means he will need on-going training and is ONLY available to an SF Bay Area experienced, sport dog home. Roger is a 8 year old, 10lb Australian Terrier/Jack Russell mix, and this guy is ALL terrier!! (His personality is probably closest to that of a Jack Russell) He loves to play with other small dogs, is good with cats (although sometimes he wants to play with them if they run). He LOVES to play (can’t say this enough), and he is very high energy. He has learned a handful of tricks (is a titled Advanced Trick Dog), and he competes in USDAA Agility (with two titles already- SPS and PD)!, so he must go to a home that can continue dog sports with him, and keep him very active, both mentally and physically. He’s like the energizer bunny, and he is one of the smartest dogs we have ever met, scary smart! He does also love to snuggle with his person and give kisses. He’s crate-trained and housebroken. His only issue (besides his energy and intelligence level) is *fear aggression toward strangers* (will bite if a stranger approaches, reaches their hand for/toward him, or spooks him), but with lots of patience, management, training (counter conditioning), and carefully monitored socialization, his fear has decreased, but it may never go completely away, so you can never let your guard down with him. He has gotten a LOT better in his foster home over the last several years, but will need someone to continue the right kind of training with him. He does seem to warm up much faster to young women than to older people or men. This is why he’d do best in a home with NO children and with someone experienced with terrier or high energy breeds (like herding dogs) and near-professional dog behavior experience. Once you give this dog a chance, you will fall in love! He’s really such an absolutely brilliant dog, the life of the party! Roger has been in rescue since 3/2011. Roger is neutered, up to date on his shots, microchipped, and will come with a collar, harness, leash, and bag of food! Story
Looks like: Terrier mix Male, 13 years old (estimated), 13 pounds Sweet little Gus may be vision impaired, but he sure knows how to find his way into your heart. Gus is a sweet soul who would enjoy a mellow home to toddle around in and take in the smells around him. He gets along well with other dogs of all shapes and sizes, but we don't know quite yet how he'd do with cats or kids. This adorable little guy may not appear so, but he is mostly blind. His eyes are crystal clear! Luckily, he is one smart cookie. He navigates the world well and is able to quickly map out his surroundings. Gus joined us from Hitchcock Road Animal Services after he was found as a stray stuck in a ditch.

Story
Looks like: Terrier mix Female, 10 years old (estimated), 9 pounds Pippie has a very clear agenda for her golden years: enjoy life to the fullest, embrace limitations of an aging body, and be as quirky as all get out. This sweet little Madam really loves to be held and cuddled and wants nothing more than to be around her favorite people. She gets along well with anyone she meets, including other dogs and also cats. In fact, at her foster home, Pippie has been caught sometimes cozying up with the other pups! But her favorite snuggle spot is right next to you on the couch or in another warm bed when you're not there to snuggle. We think she may be ok around gentle, older children, but is a bit too fragile to be around young kids. Pippie enjoys toddling around the yard for a bit or going for short walks, and then finding a warm sunny spot for a nap. She is content on car rides and also when home alone. Miss Pippie has quite a list of adorable peculiarities. For one, her stiff joints give her a bit of an old Wild West sort of swagger. For entertainment, she woo-woos when she gets excited and can be very silly and playful during her spunky moments. Her specialty moves are her wiggles while laying on her back when she is especially happy and gleeful. Pippie is on a few medications which she takes 2-3 times a day. This content little pup dreams of a loving home with caring people and a little extra space for her on the couch. Pippie had quite a rough past and joined POMDR after she was picked up as a stray and brought to Hitchcock Road Animal Services.

This sweet boy would love to join you for a walk in the park, coffee dates, beach time, you name it! He has even met some nice children and has enjoyed soaking in the extra attention from them! Dave does well with other dogs of all shapes and sizes, but we don't know yet how he gets along with kitties. Dave's soulful eyes say it all. He's a true sweetheart ready to bring love and snuggles into your home! Dave joined us from Hitchcock Road Animal Services after he was found as a stray.
