Story
Her pale blue eyes wide with wonder, 2-year-old Trixie is gradually and gratefully learning how wonderful life can be. Due to her inauspicious beginnings, this shy but sweet 20-pound white beauty needs patience and tenderness to feel both comfortable and safe, and then she reveals how happy and fun-loving she truly is. Dancing and prancing about in her foster home, she’s absolutely adorable, and when she’s especially excited her whole body shakes! While Trixie is still timid around strangers, she adores and trusts her foster parents, allows her to pet her, and is always SO excited to see her. Happiest in the company of her doggy foster friends, they play together outside in the yard for hours on end, and as much as she loves them, she also loves chewing bones, playing with toys, and eating any and all kinds of food and treats, accepting them gently. Motivated by food, toys, and love, she comes when called, is crate-trained, and knows how to use a doggy door. She's working on “no” and her leash skills, and is almost fully house-trained. While Trixie would greatly enjoy a home with a fenced yard, it's not required. Trixie would like to have dog friends she can interact with, either live-in ones or frequent doggy play dates. Now for Trixie to thrive, she needs nurturing adopters who will patiently earn her trust, win her heart, complete her training, including her commands, and keep her both active and adored fur-ever. To ensure each pet finds the best possible home, we ask that you fill out our adoption application so we can learn more about you and your household. We review each application received in the order they're submitted and will contact you within 48 hours (please check your spam folder for our emails). If your home sounds like a good match for you and the pet, we will connect you with our dogs' foster parents to chat more in-depth. If both you and the foster agree that the dog is a good fit then a "meet and greet" is set up. We require applicants' dogs to meet ours to ensure they get along. We'll ask you to read and sign our adoption agreement and pay the adoption fee to finalize the adoption when it comes time. Our adoption fees help cover the costs of saving more lives! A home visit will be scheduled within one week of your new pet going home with you. The adoption fee for this pet is $300. Our adoption fee covers the following: Spay/neuter Microchip DAPP vaccinations as age-appropriate for the dog. Adopters shall be responsible for all DAPP boosters after adoption.
