Story
Another one of our amazing pups is ready to find a family to call her own - for those of you that don't remember, Frankie came to the rescue back at the end of October - she was brought in for a routine spay and pre-surgical bloodwork revealed other issues - her glucose was sky high - other tests needed to be ran - the owner was called and everything was explained and the owners were considering euthanasia due to several reasons - she was signed over to the rescue - I understand that sometimes things happen but I can't imagine it just being so easy to say to euthanize a young dog that really just needed to some more testing to get to the bottom of what was going on - but it is neither here nor there now as she became part of the rescue that day - she was hooked up to fluids, more tests were sent out - we did a glucose curve - and we started her on a diet that was appropriate for her - needless to say after a little effort and spending the money to do what was best for Frankie - her glucose became normal and she was kept on a proper diet and there have been ZERO issues again. This girl is amazing - she is deaf, but don't let that stop you - because deaf dogs are simply amazing and so so smart = Frankie is estimated to be 1.5 years old - she is a smaller girl at around 40 pounds and here is what her foster mom, Hannah, had to say about this special girl. Frankie is one of a kind, as a young Aussie she is enthusiastic, energetic yet laid back and relaxed. The perfect companion for someone who has days where they like to explore the world, and rest on others. She has been exposed lightly to farm life, and has never been bothered by my chickens/livestock or cats. She enjoys the company of my other dogs and LOVES to play as her personality shines through. Frankie would do best in a home where they are patient and understanding of her disability. While deaf, she needs to be watched thoroughly and taught things in a rather, different language. She responds highly to R+ and gentle body language. She doesn’t understand her size and truly thinks she’s a lap dog! (But we don’t mind 🥰) Frankie is a beautiful soul who deserves the VERY best. She loves baths, getting dressed up, and going on walks. She also takes her monthly preventative like a treat! Which in my opinion is a win overall! We love Frankie so very much. I know her furever family will love her just as much. If you are interested in adopting Frankie, please go to our website www.boxerbuttsandothermutts.org We do NOT set up any meet and greets until the application has been received and reviewed - we do require vet references and a home visit as well. Frankie is spayed, current on vaccines, microchipped, dewormed, current on monthly heartworm prevention and flea/tick prevention and she has had a full blood panel done ( a couple when we were trying to resolve her issues) Her adoption fee is $250.00 We do not have a facility - all of our dogs are in private foster homes throughout Western North Carolina and Upstate South Carolina. Meet and Greets are set up after the application is processed and a phone call between the foster and the potential adopter. Lets find this girl her happy ever after - she is going to be such a huge blessing to some very lucky family
