Story
Copper Bear is a handsome sweetheart with tiger-like stripes, soulful eyes, and a heart overflowing with love. He is the definition of a gentle soul—low-key, calm, and always ready for a cuddle. He truly lives for snuggles, love, and pleasing his people. Despite his past, he’s the most affectionate, enthusiastic, happy-go-lucky dog you’ll ever meet. He even earned the nickname “Tiny Dancer” for the adorable way he dances with his front paws when he’s excited! He’s always smiling – seriously, it’s contagious! My Story Copper and his siblings lived a very heartbreaking life. Like Copper, several dogs were chained outside in extreme conditions often left without food and water. Tragically, one of his siblings died due to starvation before help arrived. Copper originally lived outside with two other dogs but eventually was left completely alone. Desperate for companionship, he tried to escape and ended up tangled in his chain—unable to move or access food or shelter. After several days, he was thankfully discovered and freed. Copper Bear is more than just a rescue dog—he’s a survivor, a snuggle expert, and a heart-healer. His gratitude shows in every wag, every smile, and every time he curls up next to you. If you’re looking for a loyal best friend who will love you with his whole heart and make you smile every day, Copper Bear is your boy. He’s been through the worst—and now he’s ready for the best. Let his life begin – with you!

Story
Imagine having a home one day, and the next, being tied up under a bridge in the sweltering Houston heat, left to fend for yourself with nothing but hope and the kindness of strangers. That’s how Noodles’ story began. But it’s not how it will end. Noodles is a resilient little Westie mix, about 4–5 years old, who’s already been through more than most dogs should in a lifetime. He was found alongside two other dogs, abandoned and helpless. Covered in fleas and grime, he arrived at the vet in heartbreaking condition. But what shines through even more than his dirt and fear is his potential, because Noodles is on the verge of an incredible transformation. Noodles is the only male of the trio, and though he’s still a little unsure and overwhelmed, there’s a gentle, playful spirit underneath it all. He ventures out to play with the other pups and will quietly curl up at your feet, soaking in every ounce of safety and comfort he’s given. Right now, what Noodles needs most is time - time to feel safe, time to adjust, and most importantly, time to be loved. We know that in the right home, with someone patient and kind, Noodles will blossom. He doesn’t need much, just a soft place to land and someone to show him that people can be kind and the world can be safe again. He’s good with other dogs and would thrive in a calm, nurturing environment. Whether you’re looking to foster or ready to open your heart forever, Noodles is ready to begin his next chapter - and it could be with you. Let’s show this little guy what love really feels like. Adopt Noodles and be part of his glow-up. He’s waited long enough.August 11, 2025, 4:49 am

Story
3 months old Freya is only 6 lb at the moment and may not grow more than 15. Freya and her sister Frida were found by a busy freeway with their mother Fiona by a Good Samaritan who saved their lives. She looked for their home but after 2 weeks when no one claimed them, she surrendered them to our rescue. Freya lives with her mom and sister, her foster brother Buster (see picture), 7 year old human sister and four kitty foster siblings. She loves her human foster sister and loves to play with her. Freya is very loving and super adorable. She likes to run around, follow her humans, observes every little thing. She is very sweet and giving Freya has puppy energy and therefore needs a patient home who understands how to work with puppies. She is current on all her shots. She is microchipped, heartworm negative and kept on deworming schedule, and heartworm and flea preventative. Like all our underaged puppies, she will get spayed before she leaves for her forever home. She is currently being fostered in Texas, but can travel to any state, even Canada to the right home. Freya's adoption fee includes all vetting (DAPP with booster, Bordetella, Rabies vaccine, multiple broad spectrum deworming treatments, spay/neuter surgery and recovery, heartworm and flea prevention), a microchip with free lifetime registration, GPS tracker, Harness, leash and a high quality nylon Martingale collar. To meet this gorgeous pup via facetime or whatsapp or other video chat apps, please send a completed application via www.savesomesouls.com Yards, if any, must be adequately and fully fenced to adopt our pups. We do not accept electric or underground fences. Our dogs are fully assessed by foster parents, vets and behaviorists, as well as videos and video chats are available to observe their manners in public. We are extremely transparent and like to share everything negative and positive with the adopters, to ensure it's a good fit and they are not returned to us, as the trips are very stressful on them. Houston is home to million strays, many who are abandoned, many born on the streets, many who escaped while living in the yard, which is common in Texas. Since our rescue does not get grants that shelters get, we use adoption fee to help the pups and kitties in our care. Your adoption fee goes towards vetting and feeding our long term and permanent fosters, and unadoptable pups, as well as towards the monthly care and preventatives etc of our pets. By adopting one pup from our rescue, you make room for another dog to be rescued from our high kill shelters, thus becoming an integral part of our mission to save as many unfortunate dogs off the streets and the shelters as possible. So Thank you for choosing to rescue, and not go to a breeder.
