Story
Dot "Luna" was initially adopted as a puppy and was recently returned at 6 years old due to divorce. She is completely overwhelmed at the shelter but she has lived with children, another dog in a temporary situation, but would need a lower energy dog, and is reported to be potty trained and rides well in a car. What a difference a week and all the staff at TAPS giving Dot "Luna" lots of TLC. She is still timid but gets excited to see staff now compared to not even being able to look her in the eyes before. Luna is an almost 6 year old Terrier mix. She will need a patient family that will continue to help her with socialization. She loves treats and belly rubs. She is smart knows basic commands and beg. She is dog and kid friendly, potty trained but will need help adjusting to anew home, walks well on leash, and rides well in the car. If you think you are the right fit and can commit to her forever, then apply

Story
This girl is so goofy!! Her personality just emits sunshine and laughter. Her little snorty snorts as she runs around will make you smile. She is very agile, even though she's a chunk. She shows off her moves when playing with her toys, which is her favorite thing to do! She also loves being loved on! All Pet Central animals are up to date on age-appropriate vaccinations, spayed/neutered, micro-chipped (registration included), and current on parasite prevention. Dogs over six-months of age are heart-worm tested. When adopting, we will ensure that you receive copies of veterinary and microchip records. Due to the construction of our state of the art facility, none of our pets are on site, they are all located in foster homes at this time. If you are interested in this pet, please fill out the brief Adopter Survey by hitting "Apply for Adoption" on the profile. After we review your completed survey we will contact you by phone or email within 72 hours or less. We're primarily a volunteer organization, so we appreciate your patience. Please note- Out of respect for our volunteers and staff, we are closed on Sundays and Mondays and will not be processing any applications on those days. Do get back to us right away when we call or email regarding an application so that we can quickly connect using the process below: Select a pet and submit an online adoption survey: A PCH adoption counselor will contact potential adopters within three business days (PCH cannot guarantee any pets availability, but we make every effort to accommodate adopters with a reply and possible alternative suggestions). Counselor and client will then have a conversation to answer questions, discuss any medical needs for the pet and determine the suitability of a match (if necessary, we may opt to put adopters in touch with foster parents via a meeting app). We do require that adopters discuss all questions before pickup via phone or email in order to minimize direct contact with our staff/volunteers at the time of adoption. After a match is made, clients will be asked to sign our adoption agreement and pay the adoption fee online through our secure payment system* *Please see our modified no-risk return policy. (below) The PCH adoption counselor will then set up a specific appointment time and location. Adopters should bring a pet carrier and leash to pick up. Adult pets will be wearing a collar. It is important that clients arrive on time, neither early nor late. If your adoption is scheduled at Pet Central Helps!: Drive-in adoption! Upon arrival inside the Crossroads Center complex (360 Wylie Drive), look for the Nu-Way semi-trailer, which is right outside of our facility (Suite 720). Adopters should pull up to the curb in front of the facility. Adopters should stay in their vehicle. Please be prepared with items such as a crate, leash, blankets, paper towels, cleanup spray, garbage bags, etc. Call 309-846-9534 when you arrive. A PCH representative wearing a mask will carry or walk the pet out and place in the client's vehicle. Social distancing practices should be respected during this process.
