I am a happy and loving guy who gets along with kids and I really don’t have much interest in cats, so a home with cats would be just fine. I am a little selective with the other dogs I meet. I prefer friendly dogs.  While I am inside, I do wear a belly band. I am house trained and don’t need to be crated when you leave for your normal workday. I am also crate trained and I do well on a leash too (I do pull some with excitement, but my harness helps Immensely). I love to wander around outside and play with friendly dogs, travel with my human, take naps with my human or just nap by myself on a comfy bed or sofa. My foster mom says I am soulful and happy and loving and I just want to be your best friend. I would love to be with you as much as possible. I also love a good bone, all the treats and a stuffed Kong. If you do have another pet in the house, I would need to be fed separately. This includes snacks too. I like to guard my meals. Because of my age I have some worn down teeth and I did have a growth removed, but thank goodness it wasn’t cancerous. At my last vet appointment the doctor might have detected a murmur so, everyone is keeping an eye on that.  But, it doesn’t slow me down at all! I would love to find my forever family who will provide me all the love I deserve! Jack is a handsome 12-year old male Bulldog who was surrendered by his owner on August 2, 2023 because he/she was unable to contain him. Jack has a tan-and-white short smooth coat, a tiny docked tail, and an adorable symmetrically-marked face with black shading around his eyes, a black button nose on his cute muzzle, and short floppy ears. His owner told us that Jack is good with other dogs, but it is unknown how he feels about children and cats. Jack has been kept indoors and is house-trained. This sweet guy defies his chronological age and he obviously believes that 'age is just a number' .. Jack was full of playful energy when HSOV Humane Officer Fredley Tynan accompanied him for outdoor photos on August 2nd, and he loved running laps around Fredley to show off his personality and physique. Jack weighs 58.4 lbs and is fairly strong on a leash. Jack has already been neutered, so he could leave our shelter immediately with an approved HSOV adoption application. UPDATE: We've learned that Jack does NOT do well with cats and should not be placed in a home with cats or where he would have any contact with them. Jack has had encounters in the past which did not end well for the cat(s).

Story

Bailey is an adorable 7-1/2 year old female English Bulldog who was surrendered by her owner on December 27, 2023 because she did not get along the other dogs in family's home. This little sweetheart has a snow white coat, a broad chest, a tiny docked tail, and a beautiful Bulldog face with dark brown eyes, teeny white eyelashes,short ears, a black button nose, and a classic short, broad, 'upward-turned' muzzle. Bailey is listed as a 'Special Needs Dog' since she is hearing impaired/deaf. Bailey has a sweet, easygoing personality with her people friends and was a pleasure to photograph when HSOV Humane Officer Fredley Tynan accompanied her for outdoor glamour pictures late in the afternoon on August 2nd. Bailey may look familiar to many of our volunteers (and Facebook fans) since she had been brought to the HSOV on August 2, 2023 and was adopted on August 29, 2023. So Bailey spent four months in her adoptive home. Bailey weighs 48 lbs and walks fairly well on a leash. She has already been spayed. Her adopted family reported that Bailey does not do well with young children but is fine with older children. Bailey is not good with other dogs or cats. She is protective of her food bowl and does NOT tolerate having her nails trimmed. Bailey has been kept indoors and is housetrained. She is crate-trained and was kept indoors in a crate during the night. Bailey spent time in her fenced-in yard for exercise (and she enjoys being a lap dog). Bailey does well being bathed, and she loves to ride in a car. Bailey is currently in foster care. She is available for meet-and-greet and/or adoption with an approved HSOV adoption application.

Jack has already been neutered, so he could leave our shelter immediately with an approved HSOV adoption application. He could also be fostered with an approved HSOV Adoption/Foster application.
