**IF THIS LISTING IS STILL POSTED THIS DOG IS STILL AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION. NO NEED TO EMAIL ASKING IF THE DOG IS AVAILABLE. PLEASE READ THROUGH THIS BIO THOROUGHLY AS INFORMATION ON HOW TO APPLY IS CONTAINED IN THIS LISTING** Please read our dog bios carefully to be sure that the dog you are applying for suits your family and lifestyle. At Pound Dog Rescue, we believe in the benefits of post-adoption training for our dogs and their families. This allows for continued socialization, and learning and helps to create a well-mannered and balanced dog. Post-adoption training is a requirement in our adoption process. Please meet Pamela, a 2 years young Bull Dog /Beagle cross. Pam is being reposted for adoption through no fault of her own . When her adopter was noticing many reoccurring minor medical issues we took Pam back into our care to investigate this as she had been a very healthy dog with us. Ends up she was having allergic reactions to some products in her home environment and the treats she was given. With those items eliminated, Pam is once again the happy and healthy dog we know her to be. She has no issues with natural based, quality treats. She is just sensitive to those that contain dyes or chemicals. Pam is a small but solid dog weighing 16kgs. Pam is the inspiration for the saying that great things come in small packages. She is such a sweet and beautiful soul! Pam came into our rescue as a puppy mill mom. We are so glad she is here, as she deserves a forever home to call her own. This love of a dog loves to snuggle and be with her humans. She wants nothing but to love and be loved. Pam is content to lie on the couch next to you or in your lap for snuggles. However, if you are busy, she is also happy to play on her own with chew toys or have a wee nap on the couch. She wants to be part of the action with her family. As a mill dog, Pam was not treated very well so she is shy and nervous when first meeting new people. Her forever family needs to understand this and be willing to work on positive experiences and gentle correction so she can grow up to be a confident lady. Her foster mom is working on her confidence, and she is improving each week. Once she gets to know people, she is a totally different dog. You will see her bouncy, happy, joyful side within a matter of days upon adoption; Pam is a naturally happy dog and it doesn’t take her long to adapt to a new home. Pam gets along well with her foster brother and loves to initiate games of chase around the back yard or to snuggle in with him. She would also be content to be the only dog in the household too. To this girl, human interaction is the best! If her forever home has another dog it in, it should be a dog that is tolerant of a smaller dog that wants in on everything – especially when it comes to pets and bum scratches. Pam is crate trained and has learned that the crate is a comfortable place to be. She will occasionally give a few whines or grumbles if she feels she should not be in her crate but quickly resigns herself to the situation. In foster care, her family has only heard her bark twice (both times her foster brother started the fun) so she would be ideal for apartment, condo, or house. Though, Pam would definitely prefer a yard or access to a fenced in area so she can run around and sniff out what has happened since she was last there. When running in the yard, Pam puts in the cutest Tigger “boings” to her gait – she is just so joyful to be outside! This sweet girl is good in the car and travels well. She walks twice a day for about 20 to 25 minutes, which is perfect for her current fitness level. Pam also has a few play sessions in the yard too. She will need longer walks if she does not have access to a fully fenced yard to run around. Afterwards she loves a good nap on the couch (she LOVES the couch). Since mill dogs are flight risks and are very shy, we are looking for a family that has children 8 years of age or older. Pam does have a high prey drive so cannot go to a home with a cat or small animals. She will, however, do everything she can to protect your yard from any invading squirrels and bunnies! If you are looking for a loving, sweet and easy-going furry family member, Pam is your dog! Story
Lil Oscar is currently being fostered in Texas. 1.5 years young and the best boy! 43 pounds but still a little thin. 45-48 pounds would be ideal. We have him listed as a bulldog/ boxer mix. Lil Oscar is paralyzed on the left side of his face. This could have been caused by head trauma or stroke. He was found as a stray and picked up by ACS San Antonio. He was on the euthanasia list but the staff was so fond of him, they snuck him in the office and started begging rescues to take him. Because I have a huge heart for bully breeds, he is now an honorary chihuahua. Lil Oscar has no limitations, he just drools a lot on his left side. We add fresh pet or chicken to his dry food instead of giving him wet food and a large matt under his water and this helps him not be so messy. He still loves chewy bones and treats. He has so many great qualities, I am praying someone can see past the drool and love him anyway. ❤️ He is great with cats, kids, dogs. He walks perfect on leash, rarely barks, is potty trained, well socialized and he is a giant baby. He is full of love, so gentle, doesn’t jump up on you and he is great with little dogs too. He has a beautiful white coat, does not mark, squats to pee. He is a gentle soul and full of so much love to give. So please give him a chance. Approved adopters please send your hold requests to the email you were given. To get approved please visit our website www.texaschihuahuarescuecanada.org to fill in an application to adopt.

Story
Hello! My name is Allie!I've been waiting patiently for my new family since July 2023. I've been a very good girl - all the staff and volunteers say I'm an awesome dog - and I'm hopeful that my new humans will come along soon to welcome me into their family. I'm a fun and silly girl who loves to play. I'm a big cuddle bug and lap dog. I do have a big girl bark but I'm quite friendly with new people and will give lots of slobbery kisses. I'm not so comfortable with other dogs and would do best as the only pooch in the home. I'm looking forward to joining my new family!MY IDEAL HOME INVOLVES...CHILDREN: Yes, mature and older.OTHER DOGS: No, I would be happiest as the only dog.CATS: Potentially. My history with cats is unknown. However with a cat confident and experienced around dog, and a savvy and patient pet owner, I might be able to live with a cat.FIRST-TIME DOG OWNERS: No, I'm looking for someone that has previous dog experience.FENCED-IN YARD: Highly recommended. HOUSING ENVIRONMENT: No apartment buildings, as I sometimes bark at dogs when they get too close to me.SOMEONE HOME MOST OF THE DAY: No.SOME OTHER THINGS TO KNOW ABOUT ME...ACTIVITY LEVEL: Medium.I'M ON A PRESCRIPTION DIET: No.HOUSE-TRAINED: Yes.If you think I could be a good match for your home, click the "adopt me" button to apply!
