Story
Brownie is an 8-year-old Bulldog/Pit mix with a heart that somehow grew even bigger than his past. Before coming into rescue, he didn’t receive the care he deserved, but you would never know it from the joyful, affectionate, tail-wagging boy he is today. Brownie has spinal spondylosis, which means he walks with a little extra character and sometimes needs a minute to loosen up after resting. But don’t let that fool you — this boy still gets the zoomies, runs up stairs, hops around with excitement, and embraces life with enthusiasm. He doesn’t let anything slow him down. And then there’s that underbite. Those tiny teeth peeking out are absolutely irresistible. One look at his sweet face and you’ll understand why everyone falls in love so quickly. Brownie is the definition of a cuddle bug. He lives for belly rubs, kisses, and curling up in bed with his foster family. If you’re on the couch, he’s right there beside you. If you’re heading to bed, he’ll happily join you. His favorite place in the world is wherever his people are. He loves being outside, whether it’s going for walks or riding in the car. This fun-loving guy simply loves life and has so much joy to share. He even enjoys bath time. Brownie adores children and has spent time with young kids in his foster home, soaking up their attention and affection. Brownie is housetrained, though he may mark initially as he adjusts to a new environment. This should lessen as he acclimates. He does have some skin allergies and is currently receiving Cytopoint to keep him comfortable. He has no food restrictions and no physical limitations beyond occasional stiffness after resting. He has also been tested for Degenerative Myelopathy and is negative for the condition. His test results and X-rays will be included in his adoption paperwork. Brownie does not do well with cats. He does do well with most dogs and his best buddy with a foster puppy in the home. Brownie is a resilient, happy boy who has overcome a difficult start and still greets each day with love and enthusiasm. He deserves a family who will cherish him, laugh at his adorable crooked smile, and give him the security he’s always needed. He has so much love left to give. Could you be the one he’s been waiting for? Adoption application can be found at this link- https://airtable.com/shrAznkHf1ruIqQwq

Story
IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN SALTINE, PLEASE GO TO OUR WEBSITE TO READ ABOUT THE ADOPTION PROCESS AND FILL OUT AN APPLICATION. www.furkidrescue.org Saltine was found as a stray in Mississippi. Saltine is a little lover- he loves to cuddle! He sleeps in bed every night and is right up against his foster mom. He gets along well with the resident dogs and likes to ride in the car. He is food obsessed. He most likely was not fed regularly, and he inhales food. A slow feeder bowl is a must. He will also push resident dogs right out of their bowls and inhale their food- so he will need to bed fed separately from other pets and have their food kept away. A home that “free feeds” current pets will not work for Saltine. He is house trained, but he does “leg lift” in the home on occasion. Due to have such pronounced Bulldog legs, he is not going to be running partner, but would love a walk!

Story
I adopted Grace 2 years ago. Unfortunately, due to partner passing, house is sold and downsizing. Am not able to take Gracie with me unfortunately. She is like Velcro, always at my side, loves her tummy rubs, loves to always be in the middle of what's going on. She's best as an only dog home, good with kids & adults. She has never been around cats. She does like to bark at times, good on her walks, loves to be outside, a fenced in yard would be ideal. Please help me find her "forever home"

Story
Meet Thor Thor is the final puppy from this incredible group, all of whom share the same heartbreaking but hopeful beginning. Thor and his littermates were found abandoned in a box in the woods during freezing temperatures. It’s truly a miracle they were discovered when they were. After receiving all necessary veterinary care and support, Thor is now a healthy, playful puppy ready for a forever home. Born mid-November 2025, Thor is believed to be a pit bull mix (DNA testing pending) and is smaller in stature. He is black with a white chest, chin, and toes, and his coat is noticeably softer than his siblings—especially cozy when you pet him. Thor is playful, friendly, and enjoys spending time with his people. He does well with other dogs and cats and loves being part of the group. One thing to note is that loud household noises can be a bit intimidating for him; he’s especially afraid of dryers when they’re running, so a patient home that can help him gain confidence would be ideal. As with any puppy, Thor will need continued training, socialization, and consistency. His future family should be prepared to puppy-proof their home and commit to the time and effort required for housetraining, basic manners, and helping a young puppy grow into a confident adult dog. Thor has already overcome a rough start to life. Now he’s ready to settle into a safe, loving home where his soft coat—and sweet presence—can be fully appreciated.
