Meet Annie (also known as Tina!) Annie is a beautiful red-ticked coonhound with the softest soul to match her soulful eyes. She’s a gentle, loving girl who does wonderfully with children and truly enjoys the companionship of other dogs. Annie thrives on connection and, once she warms up to you, it’s clear she absolutely adores her people. It’s evident that Annie hasn’t experienced much of home life before, which makes her eagerness to love all the more special. Because of this, she does have some separation anxiety and would do best in a home where someone is home most of the time to help her continue building confidence and security. With reassurance and consistency, she settles beautifully and finds comfort in being close to her humans. Annie has shown zero aggression and has a naturally calm, sweet demeanor. She is currently working on house training and basic manners, so she’d be happiest with a patient family who has some experience helping a dog learn the ropes of living indoors. She’s eager to please and will blossom with gentle guidance. Loud or sudden noises can startle her, but she recovers quickly. A quiet home where she can feel safe, loved and a warm lap will allow Annie to truly shine. Meet Dixie 🤎🐾 Dixie is an 8-year-old hound mix with a heart as big as her adorable floppy ears. This lovely lady is the definition of a couch potato — she’s happiest lounging by your side, soaking up all the love and enjoying the simple life. While she’s mostly a laid-back girl, Dixie still appreciates a nice stroll and will gladly join you for a leisurely walk. At around 65 pounds, Dixie is a bigger girl, so she’d do best in a home with older children who can comfortably handle her size. She’s past the puppy chaos and fully embracing her well-earned “golden years,” making her the perfect companion for someone looking for a calm, loyal best friend. Dixie is being fostered through Friends of Rescue in Huntsville, AL and is ready to find her forever home. Bud's The Hound! Happy, lovable, snugable, funny and sometimes mischievous! Welcome to life with a Coonhound.   Bud is an American English Coonhound, 6 years old and a big fellow at 70 lb. For the past 4 years, Bud's world was consumed with a happy family, complete with 2 kids, and life was good. But sadly, bad things can happen to families and life isn't always fair. We don't judge.  We just hold our heads up and howl at the moon!   Coonhounds were bred to work.  They  assist their owners in hunting   the fields and providing food to feed the family. But not all Coonhounds are honor roll students. Our Bud flunked Hunting 101. He was terrified of the gunshots! This gentle hearted Coonhound still need exercise. He prefers vigorous walks, a BFF dog friend to wrestle with or most of all, a yard full of kids playing a fun game of Tag. Then evening comes, the sun sets and all the activities are done.
