Story
Sweet as pie with the softest fur, Sprink is a medium-sized Llwellin setter mix who loves small animals and will not miss an opportunity to point them out to you! Rabbits, squirrels, birds, even cats. The Llwellin setter was historically bred and born to be a bird hunting dog so this tracks! So a home that does not feature feline friends or other little mammals would be best for her. Unless you actually want her to help hunt them. Turns out Sprink is actually quite a rare pup which makes sense since we have always known she is one of a kind, set to be an extinct breed in the next 50 or so years, the Llewellin Setter is just like an English Setter but bred for hunting oppossed to the show circuit and she is a perfect example of her breed. Loyal, affectionate, mild-mannered, and excellent with kiddos. She does particularly adore small humans and would love a family with little ones. She is playful and gentle and has not shown any food aggression. Though she will try to counter surf or eat small bits that fall on the floor. (She LOVES food) She isn't particularly destructive but will chew on some unfavorable items if they are easily accessible, but as long as shoes, chords and other common favorites among dogs are out of reach she isn't motivated enough to go out of her way to chew them as long as she has access to some pup approved chewies, bones and toys. Comfortable inside or out, Sprink is happy to be wherever she is at, as long as it is not a crate for an extended period of time. She may have been an outside dog previously, though she does understand her “pottying” is to be done outside most the time and likes spending a lot of her time watching the birds outside. Sometimes you have to watch for her little dance at the door or take her out during the night but she adjusts and will learn your routine. She really is a special pup with a long history of not being treated the way she should be; she was tagged from a Colorado Shelter in August and was in bad shape, multiple wounds, extremely skinny and just overall not looking good. She quickly got sick and was treated for almost an entire month to get her healthy and back on track, and to our surprise turns out she had been pregnant this entire time, but because she got sick and was in bad shape you couldn't even tell! Finally healthy we scheduled her spay appointment just to learn she would soon be welcoming puppies and two days later she delivered 7 healthy babies who have grown up and mostly gone to their forever homes. It is time for this girl to retire to a life of relaxation and endless love, she just needs a cozy spot to lay in and as many head scratches as you are willing to share.
