Story
Meet Midnight, an 8-year-old Goldendoodle with a gentle heart and a sweet tooth! Weighing 44 pounds, Midnight can be a little shy when meeting new people and exploring new situations, but a tasty treat is often the quickest way to earn her trust. Midnight is looking for a patient adopter who will give her the time and space she needs to settle in and feel safe. With a calm approach, plenty of encouragement, and a few snacks along the way, she has the potential to blossom into a devoted companion. If you have a soft spot for the quieter dogs and enjoy watching confidence grow one small victory at a time, Midnight may be the perfect match for you. Her minimum adoption fee is $300 plus a $15 fee, if 4 months or older, for rabies registration for McLean County residents. She has been spayed, microchipped, vaccinated, heartworm checked, dewormed, and is on flea and heartworm preventatives. Story
Red is a beautiful 5-year-old Irish Setter who weighs about 61 pounds, but her sweetest feature isn't her gorgeous coat. It's the quiet, gentle heart she's just beginning to share with the world. Red is learning that life can be safe, kind, and full of love. She's a reserved, shy girl who takes her time with new experiences like stairs, car rides, and walks, but with patience and encouragement, she's making steady progress. Once she trusts you, all she wants is to be close by. Whether you're relaxing on the couch or moving around the house, Red is happiest simply being near her people. In her foster home, Red has proven to be house-trained and can be trusted to sleep wherever she chooses. She's a calm, quiet companion who enjoys lounging indoors with occasional short trips outside. She's still discovering what it means to play, so don't expect zoomies or tennis ball marathons just yet. Right now, she's content soaking up love and learning that life doesn't have to be scary. Red does wonderfully with children and especially enjoys their gentle affection. She has also done well with the large male dogs in her foster home and was friendly when meeting a small dog. We think she'd thrive with a calm, confident canine companion who can help build her confidence and show her that the world isn't such a frightening place. If you have a patient heart, a peaceful home, and room for a gentle soul who's learning how to be loved, Red just might be the perfect addition to your family. Her minimum adoption fee is $400 plus a $15 fee, if 4 months or older, for rabies registration for McLean County residents. She has been spayed, microchipped, vaccinated, heartworm checked, dewormed, and is on flea and heartworm preventatives. Story
At just 1 year old and 53 lbs, this handsome guy is looking for a family that will let him settle in at his own pace. Bart can be slow to warm up to new people, but given a little time, his sweet and loyal personality really starts to shine. He walks beautifully on a leash, knows how to sit, and once you've earned his trust, he's more than happy to hand out plenty of kisses. And if his personality doesn't win you over, his irresistibly fluffy ears just might. If you'd enjoy earning the love of a very special dog, Bart just might be your perfect match! All Pet Central animals are up to date on age-appropriate vaccinations, spayed or neutered, microchipped (registration included), and current on parasite prevention. Dogs over six-months of age are heartworm tested. When adopting, we will ensure that you receive copies of veterinary and microchip records. Records are sent via email. Paper versions are available upon request. If you are interested in this pet, please fill out the brief Adopter Survey by hitting "Apply for Adoption" on the profile above. After we review your completed survey, we will contact you by phone or email within three business days. Please note- Out of respect for our volunteers and staff, we are closed on Sunday and Monday and will not be processing any applications on those days. Please get back to us right away when we call or email regarding an application so that we can quickly connect using the process below: Select a pet and submit an online adoption survey. A PCH! adoption counselor will contact potential adopters within three business days (PCH! cannot guarantee any pet's availability, but we make every effort to accommodate adopters with a reply and possible alternative suggestions). An adoption counselor and client will then have a conversation to answer questions, discuss any medical needs for the pet and determine the suitability of a match (if necessary, we may opt to put adopters in touch with foster parents). After a match is made, clients will be asked to sign our adoption agreement and pay the adoption fee online through our secure payment system *Please see our modified no-risk return policy. (below) The PCH! adoption counselor will then set up a specific appointment time and location. Adopters should bring a pet carrier and/or a leash to pick up and their ID. Adult pets will be wearing a collar. It is important that clients arrive on time, neither early nor late. Cats and kittens are required to leave in a pet carrier. If your adoption is scheduled at Pet Central Helps!: Upon arrival inside the Crossroads Center complex (360 Wylie Drive), look for the black Pet Central Helps! semi-trailer, which is right outside of our facility (Suite 720). Park in the parking lot and enter the facility. A PCH! representative will greet you and show you to the adoption room. Your new pet will be handed to you. We will take a "Happy Adoption Day” photo with your pet and family. If your adoption is scheduled at PetSmart – Bloomington, IL: Park in the PetSmart (1606 E. Empire St.) Parking lot and enter the store. We will be set up just inside the store entrance. Let us know you are here to pick up your pet! A PCH! representative will confirm your information and hand you your pet. We will take a "Happy Adoption Day” photo with your pet and family. If your adoption is scheduled at the Cat’s Meow Cafe: Navigate to PetSmart, park in the parking lot and enter the store. Locate a PCH! Representative at our adoption table and let them know you are picking up a Cat Cafe Cat. You will sign your final contract with your counselor and snap a picture of the completed screen. Head to the Cat’s Meow Cafe at 507 N. Hershey Rd and provide them with the snapshot of your final contract. They will get your cat and take a “Happy Adoption Day” photo with your pet and family. PCH! supports a 30-day no-fault return policy in which adopters are given the opportunity to find a better match. If we cannot provide advice/tools to keep a pet in the home we offer these options: Exchange for a pet that may be a better match** Receive a refund minus a $40 processing fee** With this approach, we can often turn mismatches into opportunities! Thank you, Pet Central Helps!
