Story
Penny is a 19 month old Brittany/Hound mix. She is UTD on vaccines, microchipped, Heartworm negative and on preventative.  She minds her foster mom really well and has great recall. Penny knows the command sit and is working on stay. She is not very vocal and does not bark much. She loves running in the yard and is good with other dogs. Penny loves her toys and she also loves treats. Penny is a very healthy girl. Penny's foster mom says she is not destructive and loves to lounge in her dog bed. Because she gets overly excited, Penny jumps on people, but her foster mom is working with her.  Because of her jumping, Penny will not be a good fit for a home with small children.  Penny is being fostered in Tennessee. Her adoption fee is $325.00 and can be transported up to 1400 miles via our Canine Railroad with the adopter taking the last leg, usually less than 100 miles.  Applications for Penny can be found on www.nbran.org.  For more information, email dltuthill@epbfi.com or ztasuzanne@gmail.com.  February 22, 2024, 1:02 am

Story
My name is Lady Anne, and I am hoping to find my family for Valentines Day.  I am a 5 ½ yr old, 27 #  Liver/white spayed petite Brittany girl.  I am housebroken, crate trained, utd on my vaccines. My AKC name is  Go North’s I Love My Sleeping Lady – AKC SS07736403.    I have been and I am on hw prevention, I am HW and Tick Neg.  My Mom loves me, and felt it was better to let me have a home of my own, as there were 7 dogs in my family.  I get along well with my sister Bella Rae, I am not bonded, but do love her and get along well with her.  I do get excited when another dog starts barking.  I have been known to go after the smaller 15 lb  herding dog a couple of times over the years. So, I would be better with no dogs or cats, or a very calm male dog.   I would like to have a loving family to dolt on me and spoil me.   I am hoping I can be your families Valentine. I would love a physical fenced in yard.  I would love to be your only baby girl with 4 legs.  I just need to be your one only loving baby.  From Lady Anne’s Owner:  Lady Anne is from my breeding.  I own both Mom and Dad and kept her and two of her siblings from a litter of 5.  Lady Anne was born in Alaska, and we were active in conformation dog shows.  She took puppy classes and also nosework classes.  Since I had three puppies, my son and a friend helped me with handling and showing the puppies. Lady is petite and fairly happy go lucky.  She’s not super vocal.  She will bark on occasion, but not like crazy.  Sometimes she will fuss when in a crate but can be told to “knock it off” and will listen fairly well.  As with most Brittanys, she is food motivated and easily trained.  She is good about getting her nails dremeled (we do so at least every 2-3 weeks).  She does NOT love having it done and will hide at the back of a crate when she realizes that it is grooming time.  But when I put her on the grooming table, she does not fight, cry or nip.  She’s used to being on a grooming table and being clippered and/or scissored.  She also allows her teeth to be brushed and her ears cleaned. We groom every 2-3 weeks: nails, ears, and teeth.  Then scissoring and clippers as needed to remove her “spay coat” as needed.  She’s good on the table and with all grooming tasks including baths. Because Lady hoards stuffies and then guards them, the only “toys” we use are Benebone chews, moose antlers, rope type toys (not a favorite).  Lady is uninterested in picking up the balls or engaging in play.  Since moving to TX, one of Lady’s favorite things is to hunt the frogs and bugs that come out at night.  She will point at the birds in the backyard and follow them from tree to tree. Once we moved back to Texas, we had several family members come and visit.  Lady quickly became my Aunt’s favorite pup.  Whenever she visits, Lady is always happy to see her and is gentle with her greetings.  She loves it when my Aunt scratches her neck and chest.  Lady is comfortable with the new visitors and enjoys their pets and attention. Lady loves to lie next to me or on my lap while I’m watching TV.  Her favorite place on the bed is always right up against me.  I was excited to get a small wading pool for the dogs during the hot Texas summer and only Lady enjoyed wading in the pool.  Her favorite pool game was bobbing for the frozen veggies I tossed in the pool. Commands Lady Anne knows: Sit Down (don’t always follow through, but they have been taught it.) Come in (from the yard) – probably will NOT recall if they got loose in the whole wide world. Kennel up Go Potty – “Go Potty so we can go to bed” Wait (I usually use hand signals to emphasize this) Leave it Drop it or At At From NBRAN:  She would be better as an only dog, calm male or her sister.  I would not take her to dog parks.  With approval of Coordinators/Regionals involved, she might be able to be a foster to adopt. The adoption fee for OK/Lady Anne, who lives in Tulsa, OK  is $350,  which helps to offset our vetting and allows NBRAN to rescue more of these wonderful family members.  If you are interested in making OK/Lady Anne part of your family, please complete the on-line application by visiting www.nbran.org .  Contact the South Central Region Coordinators Chris Wagoner at cwnbran@gmail.com  , Melinde Waddle at macgammy@gmail.com and/or Nancy Walker at nwalker@capecod.net  and then let your state coordinator know so we can get the ball rolling.  A phone interview, home visit and vet check will be required as part of the approval process by your state coordinator, before talking to the foster of Lady Anne.  Transportation can be arranged up 1400 miles with the adopter being responsible for at least the last 100 miles.February 22, 2024, 1:02 am

Story
Are you looking for free kisses?  Are you looking for your family Valentine?  My name is Flash, now called Ace.  My name changed because I am almost 2 ½ yrs old and didn’t know my name.  My Foster Mom felt that I needed a special name, and I liked Ace much better.  I am 43 lbs of handsome Brittany, orange/white and neutered.  I am utd on all my vaccines. HW neg and on prevention.  Housebroken, crate trained, and very good riding in the car. My Foster Mom is the first loving home I have ever had.  I have discovered a very soft inviting bed and getting to sleep with my foster mom.  I will tell you I have been missing out on a wonderful loving life for 2 yrs. If you would like a companion in your bed and besides you on the couch to watch TV,  I am your guy. I am learning sit, stay and a few other commands.  I need a physical fenced in yard.  As you will see in my video, I love to run, run, and run some more.  I need exercise and settle well in the house.  I love my toys.  I love to chase the ball, but not good on bringing it back.  From my Foster Mom:  Ace is a very sweet & intelligent boy.  A great companion, affectionate and friendly.  He loves to play with dogs.  He learns so fast, I basically have to tell him once or twice and he learns what to do and what not to do.  I am able to leave him loose in the house for about an hour at a time.  We are taking step by step, but so far so good. Any family would be very lucky to have him.  He has been such an easy foster and a delight. NBRAN Rescue Info:  Flash aka Ace’s first 2 yrs were left outside without attention and in the elements. When we got him, he was bones, filthy, terrified, and scabs from ticks.  He did have Anaplasma phagocytophilum, which is a tick-borne disease. It is treated with antibiotics called Doxy.  We treated him for 30 days and his platelets were normal as of Jan 16th.  He has one more vet appointment in 1 to 2 weeks.   The adoption fee for TX/Flash aka Ace, who lives in Round Rock, TX  is $400,  which helps to offset our vetting and allows NBRAN to rescue more of these wonderful family members.  If you are interested in making TX/Flash aka Ace part of your family, please complete the on-line application by visiting www.nbran.org .  Contact the South Central Region Coordinators Chris Wagoner at cwnbran@gmail.com  , Melinde Waddle at macgammy@gmail.com and/or Nancy Walker at nwalker@capecod.net  and then let your state coordinator know so we can get the ball rolling.  A phone interview, home visit and vet check will be required as part of the approval process by your state coordinator, before talking to the foster of Flash aka Ace.  Transportation can be arranged up 1400 miles with the adopter being responsible for at least the last 100 miles.  February 22, 2024, 1:02 am
