Story
Phoebe is a 6 year old English Springer Spaniel all the way from Poland! She is AKC certified. She has been used for breeding for years but she is now retired and spayed. She is extremely friendly and loves people. She very rarely barks. She loves her crate and sleeps in it every night. She is a table surfer so you will need to crate her during meals! She loves food so watch her weight. She gets along with other dogs, cats and kids. She loves kids. She's great on walks and doesn't pull. She knows how to sit. We call her a cow because of her spots and love for food. She is a love bug.

Story
Urgent, Donations are needed to help us with vet care for this severely neglected dog who is so sweet and appreciative of all our efforts to help him feel better. A 2nd chance at a new life will be our wonderful gift to help him thrive and know the real meaning of human kindness. He is so deserving of love, attention and having a good home. You can donate with PayPal at larrydonnacarp@aol.com or you can send a donation to CCR, P.O. Box 1050, Kannapolis, NC 28081. No amount is too small, and all donations are greatly appreciated. We are not taking applications. Bear is not available for adoption. He has a long road of medical issues and recovery time ahead of him. Please be patient and give us time to take care of his needs. His vet care is going to be costly so please donate. Meet Sweet Bear, a loving, older Cocker Spaniel boy about 10 years old who has suffered serious neglect. He was rescued by Black Tie Boston Terrier Rescue when a volunteer was driving home one night in October and came across him lying in the middle of a dark road. He was exhausted, terribly matted, couldn't walk and was barely hanging onto life. To groom him, they sedated him and took off 6 plus pounds of fur that was loaded with urine, fecal and sticks. A huge thank you to this volunteer for saving him and getting him to their vet. Sadly, he was not microchipped. With an unknown past, we can only assume that he may have had a good owner at one time and then somehow ended up with someone who didn't care and severely neglected his grooming and medical needs. X-rays were done with clear margins showing no signs of cancer in his lungs. A definite plus as we need to do a surgery to remove a bleeding granulized mass on his neck. He does have Pancreatitis, cataracts and dry eye. Luckily, he is heart worm negative with no signs of tick disease. Our main concern now is his Pancreatitis issue and getting him transitioned over to a proper dog diet as it seems he was only fed human food and no dog food. As sad as things have been for this poor sweet boy, someone must have cared when he was younger. He is neutered, pretty well house trained, good with dogs and cats don't seem to bother him. Bear has a long road of getting through vet care, recovery time and then we will see if he can be adopted out. Please show your kindness by donating to his vet care so that we can take care of his needed medical issues to make him more comfortable. Your kindness is greatly appreciated, please donate as shown above.

Please, No Phone Calls. If you are interested in adopting this Cocker Spaniel girl, please fill out an application by going to charlottecockerrescue.org to download and save our application. Fill it out and email it back to us to be approved. We will review it and return calls. To adopt this dog, you must live in the Concord, Charlotte, Kannapolis or Salisbury area only to get her vet care done. She is aggressive to small dogs. This said, she needs to be the only dog in your home, or she can be with a very social male companion who will not dominate her. She does not like female dogs at all. We have updated all vet care and hernia repair has now been done. You will need to work with CCR on future vet care needs after she is adopted. Meet Katie Bell, a very pretty black n white, 3-year-old Cocker Spaniel girl. She is spayed, microchipped, crate trained, and house trained. She was adopted at 6 months old by her lady owner from a vet office after she was brought in as an aggressive dog and the people wanted her euthanized. She did well in this home until the lady had a child. She got jealous and was snapping at the baby. Her family dearly loved her and hated to give her up, but knew she needed to find a new home. Katie prefers a women owner; she is not good with men, doesn't like loud noises, and children must be 12 and older. A calm home environment with few distractions is best. A securely fenced backyard is a must. When you first meet her, she might snap, but seems to warm up as long as you are patient with her. She is a sweet, friendly girl and will bond well to a woman owner. If you are approved to adopt her, you must be willing to do vet care at vet clinic as discussed at meet and greet. She is reactive to other dogs, so no leash walking when other dogs are around to trigger her issues. She is not a dog you can take walking out in public places. A calm place with little to no distractions is best for her to get exercise in addition to just being outside in your backyard. Loud noises scare her so patience is a must. She weighs about 29 pounds, needs to lose a little weight and has a grade 1 heart murmur but isn't on any medications. We learned recently that she can now be in a home with a socialized male companion who would love to have a play pal but will not dominate her. Adoption fee $500

Adoption Pending-We have a home for this wonderful boy. They will be picking him up first part of December. Absolutely No Phone Calls. If you are interested in adopting this Cocker Spaniel boy, please fill out an application by going to charlottecockerrescue.org to download and save our application. Fill it out and email it back to us to be approved. We will review it and return calls. Meet Jasper, a 5-year-old black n tan Cocker Spaniel boy who deserves a loving home. He is a retired breeder dog looking forward to learning how to play and hang out with humans. He came here as a nervous, scared cocker boy with little to no love or attention from his owner. Now, he has made good progress and is doing a lot better. He is heartworm negative and is now neutered. When he finds his forever home his name must remain as Jasper. He is crate trained and an easy-going dog that gets along well with the rescue dogs. He is still a bit nervous but warms up to you. A secure fenced yard is a must, and he will do best with other well socialized dogs that can be mentors. He can be with calm teen children but not with younger kids. He is doing well with leash training, but still might need house training and what is expected in new home. He is not aggressive, just a little scared and insecure. Please give him a chance to be loved, well cared for and have a great forever home. He is a very good boy and will be a wonderful companion for you to love. His adoption fee is $400.
