Story
🐾 Meet Zaira — Beauty, Bravery & a Heart Full of Love 🐾 Zaira is a truly stunning English Springer Spaniel and a shining example of just how resilient the canine spirit can be. She is five years old and weighs about 50 pounds. She was found in poor condition and heavily pregnant. Just two days after being rescued, Zaira gave birth to five beautiful puppies. Somehow, despite everything she had endured, she was a devoted, gentle mother. Today, all of her pups are thriving in loving homes, and now it’s finally Zaira’s turn. 💕 🏡 Life with Zaira Zaira has been living in a foster home where she has blossomed into a fully socialized, house-trained, family dog. She adores people, is wonderfully friendly with other dogs, and forms deep, meaningful bonds with those she trusts. Zaira thrives on routine and feels happiest when she has companionship—she would especially love a home with another dog to share her days with. She’s a loving presence in the home: affectionate without being overwhelming, calm yet playful, and deeply connected to her people. Like humans after giving birth Zaira has had some urinary leakage. So at night, Zaira may need a pee pad. There are also medications that can be helpful. Either way it is an easy, manageable routine that doesn’t affect her happy, active daily life. 🩺 Zaira at a Glance ✨ Breed: English Springer Spaniel ✨ Temperament: Gentle, affectionate, loyal, and social ✨ Health: Fully vetted, spayed, vaccinated ✨ Training: House-trained and comfortable in a home environment Zaira gives so much love. Now she’s patiently waiting for someone to love her - to offer the safety, comfort, and devotion she has always deserved. 💌 If you’re looking for a soulful companion with a soft heart and a grateful spirit, Zaira may be the perfect addition to your family. Her bags are packed… all that’s missing is you. Please email our rescue at c4ptoronto@gmail.com to learn more about her and our foster to adopt program. 🐶✨

Story
Yum has overcome tremendous challenges with grace. Brought to us from another shelter who rescued her from an abusive situation Despite facing significant health challenges, Yum approaches life with remarkable adaptability and joy. She recently underwent surgery to remove both of her eyes due to blindness, chronic dry eye, and ongoing discomfort, but this hasn't slowed her down one bit. Yum navigates her world with impressive confidence and ease, proving that love and determination can overcome any obstacle. Because blind dogs thrive on consistency and familiarity, she would do best in a home where furniture and room layouts remain stable to help her feel secure and confident. Yum manages her health with daily medications for urinary incontinence and arthritis, both of which have significantly improved her comfort and quality of life. She takes her medications without any fuss. With a low to medium energy level, Yum is the perfect companion for someone seeking a calm, loving presence in their home. She absolutely adores food and is highly motivated by treats, making training and bonding a delightful experience. Her love for cuddles is unmatched, and she has the most endearing way of doing nose boops against you to find and connect with you. One of her most charming quirks is how much she enjoys having her hand or paw held, creating an instant bond with anyone willing to share this sweet gesture. Yum is a joy to walk with - she has excellent leash manners by following your lead without pulling. She has a delightful little trot that makes every walk an adventure, and she remains calm and composed around other dogs, she prefers to be with calm well mannered dogs. Car rides are a breeze with Yum, as she contentedly lies down for the entire journey. At home, Yum displays excellent house manners with just one small caveat: she'll get into the trash if it's not properly secured, but this is easily managed. She has no separation anxiety and is comfortable being left alone when needed. When it comes to rest and relaxation, Yum loves variety in her sleeping arrangements, happily rotating between her own bed, your bed, the couch, and cool floor spots depending on her mood. Yum's playful side emerges through her love of soft toys for cuddling and puzzle toys that dispense treats, combining her food motivation with mental stimulation. She also has the most adorable habit of loving to be picked up and flopped onto the couch for maximum comfort and closeness with her humans. This remarkable girl is looking for a patient, loving family who will appreciate her gentle nature and provide the consistent, caring environment she deserves. Yum has so much love to give and is ready to become someone's most devoted companion, proving every day that the best things in life come to those who open their hearts to dogs with special needs.

Story
Papaya is a favorite here at the ranch. She loves to walk and smell everything. She loves to play with her best friend Tofu. She gets along with other dogs as long as there is a proper introduction. She is full of energy so she is ideal for taking on an adventure. She would be best in a home with older kids. She is very loving and always looking for rubs and treats. She is one of those dogs that just wants to have fun. She follows commands and is always willing to learn. She is spayed, fully vaccinated, and microchipped. She can be transported anywhere in the US and Canada. ##1499373##

Story
🐶 Looking for a New Family for Lego 📍 Location: New York Lego was adopted as a young puppy but was sadly surrendered by his owner after three years. He grew up in an unstable environment with frequent travel back and forth to Boston, which made it difficult for him to form a secure attachment with his guardian. Because of this instability, in moments of fear, panic, or overwhelming stress, he has shown a few defensive or warning bites Lego needs a family who can meet him in person, understand his behavior clearly, and provide the consistent, reassuring environment he needs. City life is simply too overwhelming for him. With a quiet environment and a patient, steady guardian, Lego has every chance to continue improving and becoming more stable. The greatest hope is for Lego to find a peaceful home where he can finally rest. 📌 Basic Information Name: Lego Age: 4 years Gender: Male Weight: 25 lbs Breed: Jindo × Cocker Spaniel mix Color: Brown & White 🐾 Personality & Behavior People: Very fearful/reactive toward new people, warms up more easily to shorter women Children: Not recommended Other Dogs: Best as the only dog Shows resource guarding around food; must be fed separately Cats: Unknown Potty Trained: Yes Crate Trained: No Energy Level: High Touch/Handling: Uncomfortable with physical contact Barking: Quiet when alone; barks at doorbells or hallway noises when someone is home Escape Tendencies: None — manageable with “sit” and “wait” Walking: Martingale collar recommended; pulls with a harness Car Rides: Nervous initially, settles on longer rides Yard: Ideal, but a quiet neighborhood is also fine Living with Other Dogs: Not suitable 🔎 What Lego Needs Lego has fear-based reactivity. His current guardian has invested significant time, training, and management, and he has shown meaningful progress. However, Lego needs: A guardian experienced with reactive or anxious dogs A consistent daily routine A calm environment with low stimulation 🧡 Please Consider Becoming Lego’s Family Once he bonds, Lego is goofy, affectionate, and deeply loyal. He is waiting for a forever family who can provide the quiet suburban environment where he can truly thrive.

Story
Marshall | 2 years old | 25lb | Dog and Cat Friendly | Tripod! Marshall is the friendliest and most loving boy on three legs. He's a big time extrovert and believes all other dogs and people are just friends he hasn't met yet. Marshall believes hands are for petting, and will instantly cozy up to anyone who gives him a scratch. He charms everyone he meets, from neighbours on walks to the staff at the vet clinic! And doesn't he look just like Marshall from Paw Patrol? 100% adorable and a great size. Marshall is extremely treat motivated, so if there are snacks on offer you can train him to do just about anything! He's crate trained, house trained, non-reactive, and quiet (we love a non-barking king). He's got a happy and relaxed demeanor that make him such a pleasure to be around. He just wants to love and be loved. Marshall is a tripod but it doesn't hold him back from living his very best life. He loves to go for walks, especially when they involve saying hello to other dogs and people. He can do stairs and jump on the couch (depending on the house's dogs on furniture policy, of course), but can't jump on human beds. He also needs help getting into cars, but is perfectly content once he's in there. Marshall loves dog company and would do best with another dog in the home. This is the kind of dog that you fall instantly in love with. Only apply if you're prepared to have Marshall run away with your heart! https://form.jotform.com/pawsacrossthewater/adoption-application
