Prince Lentil was rescued in China in May 2026. He was found in a park on the outskirts of Shuozhou in Shanxi Province, where there was almost no food and little chance for a cat like him to survive. When he was found, park staff had caught his head in a long-handled catch pole and lifted him into the air. They were preparing to remove him when a good Samaritan intervened and got him to safety. Prince Lentil was extremely thin, filthy, and badly neglected. His coat was so dirty and matted that much of it had to be shaved. Beneath all that fur was a frail little cat who had clearly been struggling for a long time. We do not know how he ended up in the park or how long he had been living there. Persian and Exotic Shorthair cats are not built to survive outdoors, especially in a place with no reliable source of food. Prince Lentil is safe now and receiving the care he needs. After everything he has endured, he deserves a quiet, loving home where he will never have to fight to survive again. Prince Lentil is scheduled to travel to the San Francisco Bay Area in October 2026 and will be ready to begin the next chapter of his life.
