Story
Socialization: Quinn has had limited exposure to different environments and experiences. He will need gentle encouragement and positive reinforcement when introduced to new situations, people, and other animals. Patience and calm, consistent handling will help his build confidence over time. Training: Training is going very well! Quinn has learned his name and responds reliably to basic commands such as sit, come, walk, outside, no, and off. He’s also doing great with house manners—no counter surfing (at least when people are present!). Quinn walks nicely on a leash without pulling. He can still be a bit cautious in unfamiliar situations, especially when encountering things he hasn’t seen before, such as blow-up yard decorations moving in the wind. With gentle reassurance, he recovers quickly. Quinn is a quick learner who continues to gain confidence every day. Crate trained: Quinn is quiet and well-behaved while in his crate. He has been crated successfully when his foster is away and occasionally at night. However, he does not yet go into the crate on command—this is still a work in progress. With continued positive reinforcement, he’s likely to pick it up quickly. Leash trained: Walks nicely on a leash without pulling or running after cats, rabbits, squirrels.    Cautious of meeting new people at parks or on walks. Activity level/requirements: Quinn is an average setter activity and does require exercise.  We walk daily and play some ball in the yard.   Fence requirements: Due to Quinn's limited life experiences and fearful nature of new things, it is highly recommended that he has a yard with a 6' fence.  He has not tried to escape in foster, but he is tall and athletic.   Personality: Quinn has a sweet, loving personality and is a true gentle soul. He has shown no signs of aggression toward people or other dogs and enjoys calm companionship. Quinn is looking for a quiet, loving home where he can feel safe and cherished. He’ll be happiest with plenty of pets, a few favorite toys, and a cozy blanket to call his own. This affectionate boy is ready to share his heart with his forever family. Health history: UTD on vaccinations, is spayed/neutered, microchipped, & on monthly heartworm preventative. Foster comments:  Meet Quinn – The Gentle Soul Finding His Way Quinn is a stunning Irish Red and White Setter with a heart as soft as his coat. At 5 years old, Quinn is experiencing the real life of a dog for the very first time — learning what it means to be loved, to play, and to trust.Though he came from a unique situation where he wasn’t exposed to people or the typical joys of a dog’s world, Quinn is blossoming beautifully in his foster home. Once he feels safe, his shy demeanor gives way to a sweet, cuddly companion who loves gentle affection and quiet moments with his humans. Quinn has discovered the fun of balls, toys, and chew bones, and he enjoys sharing his space with the other two friendly dogs in his foster home. He hasn’t met any cats yet, but he shows little interest in chasing squirrels — a calm and thoughtful boy at heart.Children and their quick movements can be a bit scary for Quinn right now, but he’s learning that the world isn’t such a loud, scary place. His foster family is helping him g et used to new sounds and experiences at a pace that makes him comfortable. While Quinn doesn’t eagerly run to his crate just yet, he settles in quietly once inside and rests peacefully without a peep. He’s learning the routines of a happy home — no couches or beds for this gentleman, just his favorite soft blanket, which he loves to fluff and nestle into for long, cozy naps. Quinn is ready for a patient, loving adopter who can continue showing him the beautiful side of life — full of trust, safety, and gentle joy. With time and kindness, Quinn will reward his forever family with endless loyalty and quiet affection.  If you’re looking for a gentle soul to grow with, Quinn might just be your perfect match. Story
1 year old Golden/Pyrenees/Staffie mixPatch is a 1 year old Golden Retriever/Great Pyrenees mix looking for his forever home. His owners got him as a very young puppy, but didn’t know at the time that Patch was going to grow up and like to go after the neighbor’s chickens. They share that he is super sweet with humans, but just doesn’t care for livestock so he would be better off living in the suburbs. Please send us your phone number if you would love to hear more about Patch. November 30, 2025, 6:55 am

Story
🧡 URGENT: TEMP FOSTER OR ADOPTER NEEDED BY 11/23 🧡 Meet Sir Griffin – the golden-hearted survivor who just wants to love and be loved! My name is Griffin; I’m a 45 lb. Golden Retriever mix, saved from euthanasia while in an overcrowded southern shelter after I was found as a stray. Boy was I in a rough condition. For the past eight weeks, I have been living in a foster home in South Jersey with my foster dad who loves me very much, treats me well and believes I am between 2 and 4 years old. I was recently groomed and the groomer said I was such a good boy. Here are some things my foster dad says about me. “Griffin is a great dog who really loves to please and be near his person. He loves attention, affection and cuddles, doing zoomies around the house or yard, going on walks, or playing with his toys. He loves to play fetch and tug-o-war. Griffin loves people and gets excited when someone comes to the house as he looks for the attention. He will bark and wag his tail when he sees someone outside, but that is a plus. He will make a wonderful companion. Grifin is also food motivated which makes training a breeze; he has already learned the following commands - no, sit, paw, wait, stay [he even learned the hand signal for stay (palm up facing out)], lay down, and take it nice (re: treats). He even knows to get on his dog bed at night when I tell him. Griffin is house-trained and alerts me when he needs to go potty. He also does great being home alone and lies by the door waiting for me to come home. (I have interior cameras). Griffin would do best with a family or individual with a large fenced yard for him to run and play fetch, and one where his adoptive pet parent(s) will be patient with him and continue to reinforce desired behaviors. He may benefit by having one (or possibly more) dogs in the home for him to play with and expend his energy. Older kids are recommended because we believe he is mixed with a “herding” breed and they can be nippy, but he only showed this attribute during the first week of his fostering. He no longer does this when someone comes in the house”. If you are interested in this sweet boy, or would like to see videos of Griffin, please call/text Karen at 413-629-8152! Thank you for caring about a pet in need!
