Story
Hello, my name is JILL. I am a beautiful, spayed 9 year old standard poodle. Im looking for a forever home where I will get a lot of hugs and attention. You see, my mommy was ill and could no longer care for me so the family called Coastal Poodle Rescue and they welcomed me with open arms. I am up to date with all my vaccines and tests and on heartworm prevention. I get along with other dogs and even cats. My foster mom thinks that I am the sweetest poodle she has ever fostered and she has fostered a lot! As long as I get a lot of attention, I am happy. I really believe that I could never be loved enough and I thrive on someone giving me hugs. You are already my friend when we meet; you just might not know it yet! I don't gobble my food; thats not lady like. I eat Purina Pro Plan and would rather dine alone. I really love to play with anybody or anything. My former Mommy was too sick to play with me so now I really like to stretch my legs and run. I am very healthy but I did have eye surgery to correct an abnormality called entropion where both my top and bottom eyelids rolled inward. That means that the little hairs on my eyelids were constantly touching the surface of my eyes and causing irritation. My good friends at Coastal Poodle Rescue took me to a wonderful animal eye surgeon who successfully repaired my eyelids, and I can see perfectly. I also have dry eyes so Im on eye drops called Tacrolimus to help me produce tears and keep my eyes moist. I will probably have to use these drops for the rest of my life but Im such a good girl, I don't mind. I am not a runner so I really could be adopted without a fenced yard. My recall is great. I come when Im called. I am house trained, crate trained and leash trained. I like to sleep near my person. If you are looking for a perfect companion, then you need to meet me. My foster mom says that she cant say anything negative about me. She says that I am a good, good girl. Why dont you see for yourself and I am sure you will fall in love with me. Please note that we only adopt to Florida residents because we require a home visit.
