This large, young Wolfhound/Pointer mix is all boy in the best way: playful, energetic, and joyfully affectionate. He absolutely adores attention and has been friendly with every human he’s met. Turkey Lurkey plays beautifully with other dogs and is submissive and respectful, making him a wonderful canine companion. He is very well-behaved in his kennel. On leash, he walks well but does have some youthful enthusiasm, so he may pull a bit when excitement takes over (because the world is just THAT interesting). So, if you’re looking for a fun-loving, loyal, and loving companion, Turkey Lurkey is ready to meet you -- Apply Today. Your new pet will require a refresher in house-training. K-9 Lifesavers strongly recommends all new adopters enroll their new pet into obedience training. This provides for an easier transition into a new home, ensures the dog remains well socialized, and helps form a bond between the dog and the new family. Adoption fees cover basic vetting, rabies (if puppy is old enough), distemper/parvo vaccinations, deworming, monthly heartworm prevention while in our care (if old enough), monthly flea/tick prevention while in our care, and transport costs. K-9 Lifesavers will also cover the cost of spay/neuter at our partner vet at 6 months of age or reimburse adopter for up to the amount of our partner vet cost should you choose to spay/neuter at your own vet.Foster Program: Foster homes provide for the temporary care of a rescue until the dog is placed into a loving, forever home.
