Rex is a PERFECT senior dog weighing in around 26 pounds at about 11 years old! This sweet boy sadly lost his home after his owner passed away but is eager to find a new one where he can spend his golden years being spoiled and showered with affection!
Rex says that age is just a number—he’s still youthful at heart, with the perfect mix of energy and “potato.” He has a fun and playful side that’s beautifully balanced with his cuddly, snuggly, and affectionate nature. This sweet guy LOVES a good walk and does great on a leash—except when he sees a squirrel (but really, who can blame him?). Rex is such a good boy though, and he can be easily redirected when something exciting catches his eye!
This boy does have a history of being on the heavier side, so keeping him active and maintaining a healthy diet will be best for him!
Additionally, Rex is BEYOND friendly and loves every animal and human he meets! He adores other dogs and has no food, toy, or water aggression toward people or other dogs. He’s also amazing with cats! Rex loves kids of all ages and would be perfect for a family full of kiddos.
As if this sweet guy could get any better—Rex is potty and crate trained, though he’s not destructive and can be left out while his foster family is away! If you don’t feel like leaving Rex at home, that’s not a problem—he’ll gladly jump into your vehicle and enjoy the ride!

Spay/Neuter Policy:
We spay/neuter dogs at 16 weeks or older, at the discretion of the rescue and in consultation with our partner veterinarians. While some veterinarians recommend delaying the procedure based on a breeds projected size, as a rescue, our primary goal is to prevent unwanted litters. Spaying and neutering also provide significant health benefits, including cancer prevention and reducing behavioral issues.
The American Animal Hospital Association and the American Veterinary Medical Association support pediatric spay/neuter for cats and dogs as early as 16 weeks. We carefully assess each case to determine the best timing for the procedure.
