Story
I’m Kylie — a 3–4-year-old Italian Spinone, about 48 pounds, with a scruffy coat and a soft heart. I’m good with other dogs, and I really enjoy my daily walks and playtime. I’m the kind of girl who loves a person to connect with — someone I can bond with deeply and trust completely. I can be nervous at first, especially with lots of noise or too many people coming and going. Because of that, I’d do best in a quieter home without young children — someplace calm, steady, and predictable where I can exhale. Once I realize I’m safe, my whole personality opens up. I melt for belly rubs, nuzzle in for affection, and become incredibly loyal to “my” people. I’m looking for a home that understands a gentle, sensitive dog like me. Give me patience at the beginning, and I’ll give you devotion for life. If you want a loving, affectionate companion who will always be happy to curl up beside you and make you feel like the center of her world, I’d love to be that girl! ANCAR is a foster-based rescue, and we adopt within a 90 mile radius of Bedford Hills, NY. You will find the adoption application here: (https://anewchancear.org/adopt/adoption-application/). Our dogs are in foster care and we do NOT have a shelter or boarding facility. AN APPLICATION MUST BE COMPLETED IN FULL AND APPROVED BEFORE A DOG CAN BE MET. This is a firm policy. Our busy volunteers are not able to respond to questions about the dog or dog meeting requests in the absence of an application. We know these dogs very well because they are in foster care. Please read the profiles of the dog(s) you are interested in prior to submitting an application. If there are specific requirements stated (ie: Fenced Yard or Canine Friend Required) these are included because they are vital to the happiness, health, safety and adoption success of that dog. We are only able to save as many dogs as we have foster homes (https://www.anewchancear.org/foster/faqs/) and resources for. We provide medical care including vaccinations, testing, deworming, spaying/neutering and microchipping before transporting our dogs. We provide all supplies, preventatives and any follow up vet care necessary while they are in foster care. These costs are high and the number of lives we can save is entirely dependent upon donations from people like you. We do not receive funding from private foundations or government sources. Story
Howdy folks. My name is Tina, and I am a pretty German Shorthaired Pointer mix, about 2 years old, and I weigh just 32 lbs. I was brought into the City of San Antonio “Kill” shelter as possibly being hit by a car, but had just a few scrapes, and nothing was broken, thank goodness! I was having some problem with my right eye squinting, which the shelter couldn't figure out, and another local vet thought my eyelid might be curling in, but when I came up positive for a tick disease, easily treated with 30 days of Doxycycline, my eye cleared up, and it turns out it was one of the symptoms. These days, I am happy and healthy, no longer squinting, and I’m ready to find a forever home! I am a very sweet and easygoing girl, and I make friends easily with everyone I meet. I’m talkin’ kids, dogs, cats, strangers, men, women, I’m lovely. I am playful and lovable and have never barked once at my foster home. I am well-behaved, already housebroken, walk well on a leash, and will sit nicely in the passenger seat or back seat on a car ride. I’m not really into dog toys, but I’m into pleasing my people, and just so you know, I’m a very sound sleeper! Inquire about me today. Adoption Fee: $400 FYI: The video and some pictures were taken before Tina’s right eye healed. The pictures in the car are from this week. * 4 Little Paws is based in CT. We adopt in many different states along the East Coast. Transport costs are included in the adoption fee.
