This three‑year‑old McNab Shepherd mix (we think?) is equal parts handsome, goofy, and heart‑meltingly sweet. Pongo is an almost perfect dog — and honestly, he’s so close it feels like cheating. He loves every human he meets, from houseguests to delivery drivers to that friend who “isn’t really a dog person” (don’t worry, Pongo will convert them). He’s also fantastic with other dogs, making him a great fit for multi‑dog homes or anyone who loves dog‑park adventures. What Pongo Brings to the Table - A+ manners: Quiet, potty‑trained, and already knows “sit,” “paw,” and comes when called. - Adventure buddy energy: Great in the car and lovely on a leash — no fenced yard required. - Professional snuggler: His hobbies include couch cuddles, butt scratches, and sneaking onto his foster mom’s bed the moment she steps into the shower. - Social butterfly: Loves people and dogs with his whole spotted heart. Having another dog buddy in the home is required to help him with this as well. Hi, I’m Bruce! I’m a sweet and loving 4.5 year old sheepdog doodle mix. I am a little nervous around new people and sometimes bark but I warm up really quickly and will soon be begging you for pets and scratches. I love school aged kids, my foster mom is not sure if I’ve met babies and young kids before but thinks I would be okay with them. I’m a big boy but think I’m a lap dog and will snuggle up next to you wherever you are, maybe even try to lay in your lap. I will follow you around the house and be your best buddy. I am very smart and my foster mom has been working on some new skills with me but they take time to learn, like not barking in the house, not running out the front door when it opens, and learning to share the attention with the resident dogs, who I get along with very well! I love to play with them. I would do best in a house with a fence as I like to run free. I am using a tie-out at my foster mom’s house and have run off a couple times when she’s gone to get me back in the house. I just like to run! I am potty trained but don’t yet know how to let you know I have to go outside. I won’t have accidents unless I really have to go and you haven’t let me out in a long time. This has only happened once where I’m staying. I sleep well in my crate and have never had an accident in there. I do well on car rides and on walks, but I get so excited that I tend to pull the leash so I will need to work on that with my new owner. I love playing with toys and chewing on bully sticks. I am a well behaved boy in my crate while my foster mom is at work. Since I have a poodle-type coat, I will need regular grooming to keep me looking my best and to keep my fur from matting. I am looking for a home that has lots of love to give me! Meet Pumba! This large and athletic young dog has a lot of potential, but he's also a bit timid and needs a special someone to help him blossom. Pumba is independent and protective, and while these traits can be valuable, he needs guidance and positive reinforcement to channel them appropriately. He's a smart pup who would benefit greatly from some patience and training with a confident handler to show him the ropes of home life, which will not only teach him commands but also build his confidence. He qualifies for a foster to adopt period of 30 days with support from his foster as well as the rescue trainer. Pumba's early life hasn't provided him with much socialization with other dogs. Although his foster home has other dogs, he was integrated slowly. He does very nicely with a large male Coon Hound at home currently. Slow and careful introductions will be key if you have other canine companions. While Pumba is a sweet boy, it's important to understand that he's not your typical family dog. He would thrive best in a home with an owner experienced with the breed and understanding of his needs. He would do best in a working home. He is known to be safe with goats and horses but chickens and cats has not been tested. Pumba needs a patient, understanding, and dedicated owner who is willing to put in the time and effort to help him overcome his timidity and reach his full potential. He needs someone who can provide a structured environment and consistent training. If you're looking for a challenging but rewarding companion and are experienced with working breeds, Pumba might be the perfect fit for you. He has the potential to be an amazing dog with the right person by his side. Pumba's adoption fee is $400 plus MN tax which covers his neuter, vaccinations, microchip and any additional medical care he may have needed while in the rescue’s care.
