Chione is an all black oriental short hair. We got her in 2021 as a kitten, so she is 5 years old. She has severe anxiety that causes her to overeat and to lick off her fur. She has been on anxiety meds in the past but they made her sick so they were discontinued. She is extremely loving, affectionate and cuddly. She is a talking cat and will engage in conversation with you once she warms up to you. She not only meows but makes actual talking sounds. She requires lots of attention and will become very attached to whoever in your home shows her the most attention. She is very athletic and loves to jump and climb. She is good with children and with older people. She is extremely timid. My youngest child is going off to college and there will be no one in my home to care for her after that.

I’m very attached to my mommy, and when she’s stressed… well, I feel it too. I’ve been with my family since I was just a kitten, and I’ve grown up right alongside my mommy through all of life’s changes. Over time, our quiet, calm home turned into a busy, love-filled “circus” with a new baby and three bonus kiddos! While I love my family very much, all the noise and activity has been overwhelming for me, and it’s started to affect my quality of life. My mommy loves me deeply and has spent the last two years trying everything she can to help me feel more comfortable. Making the decision to find me a new home has been incredibly hard for her—but she loves me enough to know I deserve a peaceful, low-stress environment where I can truly thrive. My vet describes me as “aggressively affectionate,” which just means I love BIG.
