Story
Hi there, I’m Bronson — a very handsome chocolate merle German Shorthaired Pointer, and I’ve got a big heart to match my long legs. 🐾🤎 I’m about 4 years old and 67 pounds, and I’m the kind of guy who loves life at full speed… then slows way down for a good cuddle. My breed is known for being smart, loyal, and full of energy, and that’s definitely me. I already know sit and give a paw, and I’m always eager to learn more if treats are involved. One of my favorite things in the world is playing ball ⚾ — I could do that all day if you let me. I also love squeaky toys and chew bones (just no rawhide for me, please). I’m gentle with my beds and soft toys too — I don’t tear things up.When summer rolls around, you’ll find me splashing right into the water 💦. I love it! I’ve got lots of energy and need plenty of room to run and stretch my legs. I do enjoy a little digging, and I can climb a 4-foot fence, so I’ll need a secure, reinforced yard to keep me safe. Once my zoomies are out, I’m more than happy to come inside and lounge on a comfy couch or dog bed right next to my people. I much prefer being an indoor dog, especially on cold days or during storms — those make me nervous, and I feel safest inside with you. 🌧️I’m fully house trained and crate trained, and I’m well behaved indoors. I do great with other dogs and I’m wonderful with older kids, but I’m not a fan of cats. On leash, I’m usually a gentleman, though if an interesting scent crosses my path, my nose might lead for a moment — it’s just the hound in me!If you’re looking for a loyal, affectionate, high-energy companion who will play hard, love harder, and then curl up close when the day is done, I just might be your guy. 💕🐶You can call the shelter at 479-394-5682 to learn more about me — I can’t wait to meet you!****************All animals at HSO are current on their vaccinations and will be spayed/neutered prior to adoption. If not already spayed/neutered, there may be a short delay between when you select this pet and when they are ready to go home.Breed and age are determined based on observable physical traits. Actual lineage and birth date are rarely known.Adoption Fees:-$60 for cats-$60 for dogs over 6 years-$80 for dogs 6 months old to 6 years-$100 for puppies up to 6 monthsCome visit our pets Tuesday-Saturday, 10am-2pm.
