Story
Meet Walter Walter is an approximately 1.5-year-old German Shorthaired Pointer mix with a heart as big as his legs are long. He’s an incredibly sweet, affectionate boy who loves nothing more than curling up under the blankets on the couch or bed. If he’s not snuggled beside you, he’s perfectly content hanging out in his crate with a favorite chew or toy. True to his GSP roots, Walter has tons of energy and enthusiasm. He loves playing fetch, exploring open spaces, and stretching his legs on a good run. He’s currently navigating the ups and downs of canine adolescence and is working hard on building polite manners, especially around exciting new people, animals, and places. Walter can get over-excited when seeing other dogs on leash, but with proper introductions, he becomes a playful and loyal friend. Once you’re in his circle — human or canine — you’re there for life. It’s still unknown how he does with children or small animals like cats, and due to his tall, lanky frame, he’s sometimes a bit unaware of his own body in his excitement.   With continued structure, training, and enrichment, Walter has all the potential to be the perfect mountain adventure companion. He’s even working toward earning his Canine Good Citizen certification! If you’re looking for a snuggly, spirited, and endlessly loving partner, Walter just might be your guy. ##2587277##
