Rescue FAQs
We are a nonprofit 501(c)(3) animal rescue organization dedicated to saving local at-risk shelter pets from the San Jose Animal Care Center. Our goal is to give adoptable animals a chance to shine in a casual and relaxed environment, and expand opportunity for adoptions, thereby reducing the euthanasia rate in Silicon Valley. The Dancing Cat also seeks to create a community of cat lovers by providing a place for fun social and educational events.

Adoption steps
- Submit Application

- Interview
- We have an initial meeting via Zoom to help you make sure the cat you've applied for will be a good fit for you and your family.
- Meet the Pet
- You may visit our cats at the Dancing Cat Cat lounge by appointment, or via Zoom for cats in foster homes.
- Approve Application
- Sign Adoption Contract
- Pay Fee
- Adoption fees are on our website: www.thedancingcat.org/adoption-payment
- Take the Pet Home
- We typically deliver adopted cats to your doorstep!

Once the adoption has been finalized, we will deliver the cat to the adopter's home.
