Rescue FAQs

A group of seven girls (animal activists) with the same passion and goal got together in an effort to save precious lives in the Republic of Korea. The majority of canines we rescue in Korea are from the dog meat trade, illegal puppy mills, and/or high kill shelters. All of our rescued dogs are currently being fostered in Seoul, Korea for the safety of our adopters during this COVID-19 pandemic. We may continue to foster all of our rescued dogs in Korea post-pandemic.

Additional adoption info

1. Please fill out our adoption application on our site at:

https://joeyandbailey.org

2. Adoption Fee: $850*. Of which, $350 goes towards their medical expense such as; vaccinations including rabies, spay/neuter, preparation of documents needed for quarantine office, and travel kennel. $300 goes towards their flight fee along with a flight volunteer.

*The adopter will be responsible for additional custom broker fees of $200 to clear the pet's entry to the U.S. by the United States Customs & Border Protection.

Once your application is approved, you will send the fees via PayPal to the rescue group in Korea directly. Joey & Bailey Foundation is strictly a volunteer group and we do not collect any fees directly and we also do not raise funds publicly.

Time Frame: Typically 45-60 days.

Per USDA (United States Department of Agriculture) and CDC (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention), the quarantine period is 30 days from the date they receive a rabies shot.

3. Once you submit the adoption application, we will carefully review and begin the interview process. During the interview, we will carefully explain how the overseas adoption process works and answer any questions they may have.

4. Once the adoption is approved, we begin posting on our social media accounts looking for flight volunteers traveling from Incheon, Korea to the city where the adopter resides.
