Rescue FAQs

Footbridge Foundation 501(c)(3) animal rescue based in San Antonio, Texas. Since our founding in 2017, our mission has been to rescue, rehabilitate, and find loving forever homes for kittens, cats, puppies and dogs in need. Our animals come from local shelters, are rescued from the streets, or are surrendered by families facing hardships.

We have a Petsmart location at Bandera Point for cats. Our office is located near downtown San Antonio.

Your generous donations directly support vital expenses such as veterinary care, intake fees, transportation, and fostering. We rely entirely on the kindness of our supporters to continue our lifesaving work.

Adoption steps

  1. Submit Application
    1. Links to our cat and dog applications can be found at www.footbridgefoundation.org. You must fill out the application there.
  2. Approve Application
    1. We’ll review your official application and reach out to you with any questions or to discuss next steps. Make sure you fill out the app!
  3. Meet the Pet
    1. Once approved, you’ll have the opportunity to meet the pet and see if it’s a good fit for your home.
  4. Sign Adoption Contract
    1. If you decide to move forward, you’ll sign an adoption agreement to confirm your commitment.
  5. Pay Fee
    1. Cats: $100, Kittens: $150 (under 6 months), Dogs: $250, Puppies: $300 (under 6 months).
  6. Take the Pet Home
    1. You can bring your new companion home! Remember to bring a carrier for cats and a collar and tag for dogs.

Additional adoption info

All animals are spayed and neutered, microchipped, up to date on vaccines up to their age allowance, tested for heartworm over 6 months old, FIV/FeLV tested, dewormed, and on flea prevention.
