Rescue FAQs

We are a registered 501(c)3 non-profit rescue, based in central Connecticut, whose mission is to save dogs at risk - from municipal shelters, from pounds, from owner surrenders, from unwanted litters. We are 100% volunteer-staffed and we rely on fosters to keep our dogs safe while we find them suitable forever homes. We are also 100% reliant on donations and fundraising to cover veterinary care for our dogs.

Adoption steps

  1. Submit Application
    1. we promote our adoptable dogs online using Adoptapet and social media, and ask interested parties to submit an application on our website
  2. Approve Application
    1. Only approved applicants move on to meet and greet
  3. Meet the Pet
    1. this is when we also ask a potential adopter to bring other dogs in the home to ensure there are no issues between the animals
  4. Sign Adoption Contract
  5. Pay Fee
  6. Take the Pet Home
    1. we often do the adoption (sign contract, provide all vetting paperwork, and collect adoption fee) at the animal's new home

Additional adoption info

We are foster-based so we schedule meet-and-greets with approved applicants, check references, and then provide all vetting paperwork and require a contract at the time adoption donation is made.
