Rescue FAQs

Dirty Little Paws is a new non-profit rescue in Southern California. We rescue from kill shelters and from the street, manage feral colonies, and promote TNR (trap, neuter, release). Our mission is to save the lives of as many cats as possible. We respond to daily emergencies, fully vet each cat, release ferals back into their colonies, rehabilitate some, make sick cats well, hold adoption fairs, educate the public, and place a strong emphasis on sourcing donations through events & fundraisers so that this work may continue.

Additional adoption info

We take a thoughtful approach to our adoption process so we can ensure Dirty Little Paws Rescue cats and kittens go to the best homes with families that understand adoption is a lifelong commitment. Our process is detailed above in the Adoption Process section. All interested applicants must first submit a formal application which our team reviews to ensure a good initial match. Following this, we reach out to qualified potential adopters for a brief screening interview to discuss the pet’s needs and the family's expectations. If the interview is successful, we will schedule a meet and greet, typically hosted at the foster’s home, to allow for a personal connection with the cat. Should you choose to move forward after the meeting, the final steps include completing the necessary adoption paperwork and payment to officially welcome your new companion home.
