Rescue FAQs

Western Illinois Animal Rescue, Inc. (WIAR) is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. We were founded in 2000 by a group of caring citizens from Warren County, Illinois who wanted to help animals in need. WIAR is a “NO KILL” organization. We do not euthanize any of the animals in our care unless it is medically our only option. We are 100% volunteer operated.

  2. Submit Application
    1. Once you submit an application you will be notified within a few business days if approved. Feel free to call and check on a pending app.
  3. Approve Application
    1. Once an application is submitted we will do a vet check in order to make sure any current pets are up to date on their vaccines.

Additional adoption info

If you submit an application over the weekend it may take an extra day or two due to the vet being closed to approve. We try to adopt our animals within a 75 mile radius however we do sometimes make exceptions.
