Red Fern Animal Rescue is a 501(c)(3) non-profit foster-based animal rescue whose mission is to rescue dogs from abandonment and neglect in South Texas, to advocate for animal welfare, and to connect adopters with their ideal canine companion.

Adoption steps

  1. Submit Application
    1. Submit foster application if you only wish to foster, and an adoption application if you wish to adopt or foster with the intent of adoption
  2. Meet the Pet
    1. After your app is submitted, we will reach out to have a conversation and schedule a time for you to meet the pet
  3. Approve Application
    1. If you decide to move forward after the meet and greet we will officially approve your application
  4. Take the Pet Home
    1. After your app is approved, we will complete foster or adoption paperwork and you will take the pet home

Additional adoption info

We offer foster-to-adopt period of 2 weeks before finalizing the adoption to ensure that the animal is the right fit for you.
