Shelter FAQs

Second Chance Pet Rescue is a no kill animal shelter located in beautiful Grove, Oklahoma. We house approximately 60 dogs and 65 cats and operate at capacity, with a waiting list. We were incorporated and got our 501c3 designation in 1985.

All of our animals are spayed or neutered, dewormed, heartworm tested (dogs), current on vaccines and microchipped prior to adoption. Our cats are also FeLV tested prior to adoption.
Grove, Grand Lake, Ottawa County, Delaware County & other a few surrounding counties in Oklahoma as well as Missouri.

Adoption steps

  1. Visit the Facility and Find a Pet
  2. Meet the Pet
    1. We try our best to make this as uncomplicated as possible. We utilize a meet & great room & large play areas.
  3. Submit Application
  4. Approve Application
  5. Pay Fee
    1. We have kept our adoption fees at $50.00 for over a year now. Our goal is to find homes for our pets as quickly as possible.
  6. Take the Pet Home
    1. None of our animals leave without being spayed/neutered and with all age appropriate vaccinations. We also microchip all our animals.
