Shelter FAQs

Moore County Friends of Animals is a 501c3 nonprofit rescue and adoption center in the second smallest county in Tennessee, with a population of just over 6,300. We were founded in 2013 by volunteers to solve the stray/overpopulation problem in our county. Moore County does NOT have a county animal shelter, FoA is the only resource our community has. Our mission is to provide a safe, comfortable place for unwanted dogs and cats from Moore County to stay while they wait to be adopted into their forever home. They will receive quality care and will be fully vetted, which will include spay or neutering, preventatives and vaccinations. We will provide financial assistance for spay/neuter procedures for residents within Moore County when funds are available and we will educate the community on how to properly care for their pets and the importance of spay/neuter. We will also spay/neuter Community cats of Moore County when funds are available. When able, we will provide low income residents of Moore County with pet food.
