Rescue FAQs

We are a foster-based 501c3 animal rescue comprised of a small team of volunteers. Our mission is to help animals in critical need both in shelters and in the community at large. In order to fulfill that mission, we rely on the willingness of fosters and adopters to open up their hearts and homes, and the generosity of our followers and supporters to donate towards veterinary care, supplies, transport, boarding, and other related expenses.
Although based in PA, CMAR strives to help animals anywhere in need to the best of our ability.

Adoption steps

  1. Submit Application
    1. We ask that if you are interested in one of our animals that you fill out and application and get pre-approved.
  2. Interview
    1. We will contact you if your application is pre-approved.
  3. Home Check
    1. We will do a home check either in person or via zoom or some form of video due to the pandemic.
  4. Meet the Pet
    1. If within reasonable distance.
  5. Approve Application
  6. Sign Adoption Contract
    1. And answer any questions you may have. Explain more about the animal and their needs.
  7. Pay Fee
    1. We do charge an adoption fee for all of our animals.

Additional adoption info

We do a complete check on the potential adopter. We check all references, vet references as well as speak with everyone in the home to make sure everyone is in agreement with the adoption. We will also check to see if the potential adopter has any animal cruelty charges or child related charges on them prior to proceeding with pre-approving an application.
