Rescue FAQs
We are Northern Star Dog Rescue, a completely foster based non profit dog rescue! We specifically pull all of our dogs from the euthanasia list (most are there due to no fault of their own) and dogs that are homeless or in bad housing conditions. We take them in and place them in foster homes until we can find them their forever homes! We do what we do because our team has a STRONG love for animals especially those that are in dire situations.

Adoption steps
- Submit ApplicationPlease send us an e mail or message through our Facebook Page Northern Star Dog Rescue and we will send you a Pre Adoption/Foster App.
- Approve ApplicationOnce we look over your application and background check and everything looks good we will contact you to approve your application!
- InterviewWe will contact you once your application is approved and discuss what dog would be the best fit for you and your family.
- Meet the PetWe will schedule a time to do a meet and greet with you and any current animals you have with your potential new pet.
- Home CheckWe will schedule a home check when we schedule your meet and greet.
- Take the Pet HomeOnce the meet and greet is done you will start our mandatory 2 week adoption trial to determine if it is a good fit for both you and the dog
- Pay FeeIf trial goes well the adoption is finalized. Puppies wait until after they are spayed/neutered as arranged by the rescue.

A fee for a background check is also required.
