Rescue FAQs

Our mission, as a 501(c)(3) rabbit rescue, is to improve the lives of the abandoned and feral domestic rabbits living in Cannon Beach, Oregon through public education, restriction of population growth through sterilization, provision of safety and care, and facilitation of the fostering and adoption of these rabbits into loving homes.
At the moment, we serve the Portland-Metropolitan Area and Northern Oregon coastal towns. We are willing to adopt to good homes pretty much anywhere in Washington and Oregon.

Adoption steps

  1. Submit Application
    1. People interested in adopting must first submit an adoption application on our website.
  2. Interview
    1. An adoption counselor will email them back and may also conduct a phone interview to determine if they are eligible to adopt.
  3. Approve Application
    1. Once approved, the app will be sent to the foster home(s) for them to review and reach out to the applicant.
  4. Meet the Pet
    1. Applicant visits home of foster care provider. The FCP educates and interview them. They meet the pet.
  5. Home Check
    1. If selected to adopt, they must send pics of housing set-up to be pre-approved before pet is brought over. Then home is checked.
  6. Sign Adoption Contract
    1. The contract is signed when the pet is delivered to their new home. This contract is uploaded to our database.
  7. Pay Fee
    1. Adoption fee is also paid at time of adoption (preferably as an online donation).

Additional adoption info

We only adopt our rabbits to indoor homes where other pets are spayed and neutered and all rabbits are vaccinated for RHDV2.
