Rescue FAQs

We are a Trap Neuter Return & Rescue organization working to help community & stray cats live their best lives.
Manhattan & Brooklyn with occasional remote rescue outside of NYC.

Adoption steps

  1. Visit the Facility and Find a Pet
    1. Prospective pet parents are encouraged to browse our available cats via our Instagram page where we list our latest rescues from the streets
  2. Submit Application
    1. Our online Google From application can be found through our Linktree
  3. Interview
    1. We will conduct a video interview with ALL household members regardless of status as a co-applicant or not.
  4. Home Check
    1. A home video tour must be emailed to us which details all rooms of the home regardless of areas you don’t intend to share w/the cat
  5. Meet the Pet
    1. Depending on our fosters COVID-19 concerns, most interviews are held in-person at the foster’s home now.
  6. Approve Application
    1. If adopter has resident pets, they must submit proof of current vaccines and FIV/FeLV test results. Foster-to-Adopt is implemented.
  7. Sign Adoption Contract
    1. Adoption contract & fee must be signed & completed before the cat goes home. If adopter has resident pet, a foster agreement will be provide

Additional adoption info

Depending on the scenario, either the adopter will pick up the cat from foster home or a Brooklyn Kitty Committee rep will deliver to their home. Digital medical records of the adopted pet will be provided once adoption contract is complete.
