Rescue FAQs

A Hound to Hold is an official 501(c)(3) NonProfit Rescue in Steinhatchee, Florida. We rescue lost, abandoned and neglected animals, and we have a concentrated focus on hunting dog breeds. We operate as the town’s No-Kill Shelter and have hopes to expand. All the animals taken in by us are scanned for micro-chips, become up to date on all shots and vaccines (appropriate for their age), are spay/neutered (or required to be) and are rehabilitated by us until they have a proper vet clearance for adoption! We operate out of our own pockets so donations are INCREDIBLY generous and appreciated!
