Rescue FAQs

The Friends of Faulkner County Animal Shelter (FOFCAS) is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization based in central Arkansas. We are committed to providing care for homeless or adandoned animals. All of the animals currently in our care are in loving foster homes with families who love and care for them while we search for their forever home. Transportation to NE states is available. All animals are thoroughly vetted and undergo a health certification prior to transport.

Additional adoption info

We conduct random back ground checks for adopters and check the National "Do Not Adopt" list to ensure the pets go to a good home. If the dog is a purebred dog, we require the new owner had previously owned the breed and has reasonable expectations of the dog.
We have an application and a contract that must be completed by potential adopters. We must obtain permission to speak to your veterinarian for current and/or past pet records. Personal references can be provided as well. If renting, permission to speak to your landlord is also required. If a new pet owner, we must have permission to speak to your employer. If neither are available, we are unable to adopt a pet to you.
