Visit the Facility and Find a Pet

We are open to the public for visitors to come and meet the dogs and cats looking for homes

Meet the Pet

We have several outside yards and meet and great rooms to help you get to know the pets and find the perfect fit for your family

Submit Application

The application takes about 10 mins to fill out. If the pet is already spayed/neutered, you can take your new family member home same day!

About Barrow County Animal Control

The Animal Control Department enforces the county’s animal control ordinance on a county-wide basis including all municipalities. This department responds to complaints regarding stray and nuisance animals, animal cruelty, animal bites, and rabies exposure. The department also provides temporary shelter for stray, unwanted, and homeless animals at the 104 unit animal shelter, and manages a volunteer program and animal adoption program.

So rather than buying a dog or puppy for sale from a dog breeder or buying a cat or kitten for sale from a cat breeder, we encourage people to adopt a dog, adopt a cat, adopt a puppy or adopt a kitten at their local animal shelter, SPCA, humane society or pet rescue group.
