About SADIES FOUNDATION AND RESCUE

The Sadie Foundation & Rescue Started in June of 2022, when we did our first Foster to Adopt.
She was a beautiful German Shephard Mix 12 week old puppy. Sadie came in malnourished, and had every worm except heartworm.
We took Sadie home and began our strong efforts to save her life. This was on a Thursday. We tried to feed her every kind of food to get little Sadie to eat, but to no avail. after 2 days of puking and severe diarrhea; we began to force feed Sadie Supplements and puppy formula. By Monday, Sadie was no better and had lost 3 more pounds. We rushed her to the vet.
She was worse.
The vet began supportive care and IV bags of fluids, medications, dewormer, etc.
After dropping her off every morning and picking her up every evening from the vet's office. Sadie began to severely deteriorate.
Come the following Thursday, We get a call from the Vet saying that Little Sadie's organ's are failing and we needed to get there so we can humanely euthanize her to end her suffering and wailing.
We sat with Sadie, and cried. We cried so hard because Little Sadie did not deserve this, no one deserved this.
Once the vet had confirmed she was gone and was no longer in pain; we decided we would try our hearts out to make sure no more animals received this kind of torture; as long as we could help it.
You see, Sadie's back story stems from bad owners. Owners that refused to seek any kind of medical care for any of their animals. Owners that left Sadie's mom, an elderly and pregnant German Shephard all alone at an abandoned property.
Owners that did not care if Sadie's mom lived or died, or was fed or had the proper treatments.
These owners who later discovered that a neighbor had rescued Sadie's mom from being all alone and helped her deliver her 9 beautiful pups. The neighbor's raised these 9 puppies until their mom passed away from multiple causes. The owner's came back after the babies were 7 weeks old, and took them from a happy and healthy home and that is when the nightmare began.
The 6 babies they took from the neighbor were happy and healthy, after about 4 weeks after they were taken away; the phone rang.
The neighbors got a phone call from the owner asking if they can bring 4 of the babies back because they couldn't afford to feed them. The neighbor said absolutely.
When these 4 babies returned to the neighbor, they were severely dehydrated, malnourished, and skinny. Sadie was one of the four.
To no fault of the neighbor's, they could not find out what was wrong with Little Sadie, as the others began eating and playing again.
The neighbor's had no choice but to surrender her to help her get the care she deserved.
9 days after enduring 4 weeks of torture, Sadie died.
This is our story, and why we will always fight for the one's without any voices.

SADIES FOUNDATION AND RESCUE's adopted pets

Adopt a Pet is the easiest way for you to search for a new pet in Morristown, TN.

Support adoption and rescue. Why go to a dog breeder, cat breeder or pet store to buy a dog or buy a cat when you can adopt?

Why should you adopt?

Dog adoption and cat adoption saves lives. Adopt a dog or adopt a cat and you'll have a friend for life.

What is the difference between adopting a dog, adopting a cat, adopting a kitten or adopting a puppy versus getting dogs for sale, cats for sale, puppies for sale or kittens for sale from a dog breeder or a cat breeder?

When someone is breeding puppies or breeding kittens, they are creating new dogs and cats who need homes. Some people are interested in a very specific breed of dog, cat, puppy or kitten and they think the only way to find that specific breed is to buy a dog for sale or buy a cat for sale from a puppy breeder or a kitten breeder. Yet animal shelters are filled with dogs and cats who must find homes.

So rather than buying a dog or puppy for sale from a dog breeder or buying a cat or kitten for sale from a cat breeder, we encourage people to adopt a dog, adopt a cat, adopt a puppy or adopt a kitten at their local animal shelter, SPCA, humane society or pet rescue group.
