Shelter FAQs

St. Hubert’s Animal Welfare Center is a private, nonprofit organization dedicated to the humane treatment of animals. It operates animal shelters in Madison, North Branch and Ledgewood, New Jersey and one of the largest professional dog training and behavior centers in the country at its Madison campus. Humane Education and community outreach assistance are among its programs offered to the community. St. Hubert’s also provides animal control services by contract in several municipalities in proximity to the shelters.
St. Hubert's Animal Welfare Center is dedicated to the humane treatment of animals. We believe in and provide services that support the human-animal bond and seek to foster an environment in which people respect all living creatures.

Additional adoption info

Our adoption center is located at 575 Woodland Avenue in Madison, New Jersey. We are open for adoption on a walk-in basis daily 1:30-6 pm (Thursdays 3-6 pm). If you arrive after 5:30, there is a possibility we may not be able to complete an adoption that day. Please note that we cannot put animals on hold.
