Shelter FAQs

The Stone County SPCA was organized in 2009 and opened a shelter in 2012 in Wiggins, MS. We have always been a no kill shelter. Our biggest challenge is the high demand to place dogs and cats in our shelter. Currently, we take in approximately 1200 animals annually. We do not euthanize animals for lack of space. We have a live release rate of 95%. We do this by keeping adoption fees low and transporting a large percentage of our animals (65% of our dogs and puppies).

Additional adoption info

Please visit our website stonecountyspca.org and click on the pet and "Apply for Adoption" to fill in an application online. Pet will be transported on the next available transport to the area.
