Rescue FAQs

Animal Welfare Wisconsin was established in 2024 by our founder, Shelli Frazier. Our mission is to rescue, rehabilitate, and rehome cats and dogs in Northern Wisconsin and beyond. We strive to meet each animal's physical, emotional, and behavioral needs as an individual. We are committed to helping our community find access to resources and education on responsible pet ownership that's backed by science and compassion. Shelli is a professional Cat Behaviorist, Fear Free Certified, and has 2+ years of shelter experience. Gena, an A.W.W. volunteer, is a professional Dog Trainer, Fear Free Certified, and also has 2+ years of shelter experience. We are a foster-based rescue at this time.
