At Tracy DogGirls Rescue, we are a passionate, volunteer-run nonprofit organization based in Tracy, California. Our mission is to help lost and stray dogs find their way home, offering them a second chance at a loving life. We understand how heartbreaking it can be when a dog goes missing, and we are committed to reuniting lost pets with their families, providing hope and support to both the dogs and their owners during this emotional journey.

Adoption steps

  1. Submit Application
    1. our Adoption application is on our website under Home page (scroll to bottom of page)
  2. Meet the Pet
    1. Schedule a meeting with the dog/puppy after receiving text message from the foster
  3. Interview
    1. We will want to talk and discuss your family dynamics and activity level to ensure the dog/puppy is the best fit for you and your "pack
  4. Sign Adoption Contract
    1. Once approved we do foster to adopt arrangement where you take the dog home for a few weeks prior to paying the adoption fee/sign agreement
  5. Pay Fee
    1. after a few weeks you will decide to keep the dog and sign agreement and pay adoption fee or decline to keep the dog and return the dog.

Thank you for your interest in adopting a rescue dog! Our goal is to ensure that every dog is placed in a safe, loving home. Below is an overview of our adoption process:

Application Review: We carefully review your application to assess your suitability as a pet owner.
Reference and Veterinary Checks: We contact personal references and, if applicable, your veterinarian to confirm responsible pet ownership.
Interview: A phone or in-person interview helps us better understand your lifestyle and expectations.
Home Visit: A home visit ensures your environment is safe and prepared for a new dog.
Approval Decision: Once approved, we match you with the best dog for your home.
Meet-and-Greet: You'll meet the dog to ensure compatibility.
Adoption Agreement: If it's a good fit, you'll sign an adoption contract, pay the adoption fee, and welcome your new family member!
Follow-Up: We provide ongoing support to ensure a smooth transition.
