Rescue FAQs

Our goal is to provide stray and abused animals a safe haven to heal, learn to trust humans, and go on to be wonderful pets in loving homes. We take the time to match our animals with the right adopters in hopes that they will never be misplaced again. For Pet's Sake Rescue was established in 2019 in Long Beach, MS. Each year, our intake increases by hundreds of animals. For Pet's Sake Rescue helps Harrison County, Hancock County, Jackson County and George County. Our focus is on transporting animals out of the South to help reduce the overpopulation issue and the continued circulation of animals within the MS Gulf Coast.

Additional adoption info

For Pet's Sake Rescue wants to insure that every animal goes to a forever home that can provide their every need including future medical care should they ever need it. For this reason, we ask each person interested in adopting to complete an application. The application requests information about the potential family including their home and occupants, as well as requests a vet references. If you do not have a vet reference, please email photos of your home (and yard-if you are adopting a dog) to adoptions@forpetssakerescue.org after completing an application.

We reserve the right to refuse an adoption. We know these animals on a personal level and make judgement calls with their best interest at heart.

Required: Completed application, include a government issued photo ID with current address or an article of mail going to your current address in your name. We will not begin the application process without proper identification on file.

Once approved, you will be emailed an Adoption Contract and Invoice from Wagtopia. Adoption fees are not refundable.

Transport Animals Only: Once your adoption contract is signed and the adoption fee is paid, you pets is reserved a kennel on transport. The adopter will then be provided a WhatsApp group link to stay updated on the transport. Dates are established via initial emails. The final timeline is submitted via WhatsApp the Wednesday evening before transport. During pick up, you will receive your new family member and their vetting records. Please be patient to receive these records.

Do not complete an application if you are not ready for a pet -or- need more time. We do not have paid staff that handles adoptions. Board Members voluntarily process each adoption on their own time.
