Shelter FAQs

We are a municipal shelter overseen by the counties animal control department. We serve all of Chilton County Alabama. Being the only animal facility in Chilton County, we have alot of animals coming through our doors, with roughly 2,000 intakes a year. Our animals come to us through many channels: owner surrenders, strays, animal control and abandonment/cruelty cases. Every animal that comes through our doors has story. Our staff works very hard to learn each and everyone of them in order to place every animal in their perfect home. Weather this means late night feedings, laying in the kennels with the dogs to help them feel safe, or just giving them the love and compassion they have never had before. Our mission is to Connect people with animals and enrich lives. Educate the community. Prevent abuse, neglect, and animal homelessness.
