Rescue FAQs

BB's Animal Rescue and Nature Sanctuary (B.A.R.N.S.) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, located in Bushnell, Florida, just an hour North of Tampa, that rescues and provides sanctuary to abandoned, abused, homeless, neglected, and surrendered exotic and farm animals. We encourage the compassion of these creatures through education, advocacy, and community engagement. Our hope is to build a more compassionate world where exotic and farm animals are treated as individuals and given a chance to live healthy, safe, and fulfilled lives.

Adoption steps

  1. Submit Application
Please submit an application to give us an idea of your lifestyle so we can match you with the perfect addition to your family.
  2. Interview
Once we find the right match for you we can discuss the finer details. This would include more information about the animal and you.
  3. Meet the Pet
Finally a meet and greet to determine if this is the right animal for you. Once decided we can sign paperwork.

Ultimately we want the animals we've spent love and energy on to find homes that will work best with their personality types. We never want to set anyone up for failure. Open communication is key.
