The Animal Control Division, under direct supervision of the Westport Police Department, is responsible for enforcement of local and state laws affecting domestic and wild animal life. Contrary to popular belief, the large facility on Post Road East is not the town's animal shelter. The town shelter is located on Elaine Road.
