Rescue FAQs

TAILS is an all volunteer, 501c3 organization dedicated to ending the pet overpopulation problem through spaying and neutering of pet animals. You can help! Working together – with the support of local businesses and individuals – TAILS provides: Spay/Neuter Assistance for Cats and Dogs of Low-Income Individuals -Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) Program for Community Cats -Free Spay/Neuter Clinics for Community Cats -Working Cat Rehoming Program -Cat and Kitten Fostering, Socialization, and Adoptions -Community Education and Outreach -Support of Area Animal Welfare Groups and Individuals CT residents only Age 21+. Landlord approval req if renting. Kittens adopted in pairs or to homes with cats.
TAILS is an all-volunteer, non-profit charitable organization based in Westport, CT. We support spay/neuter of cats and dogs locally and beyond, concentrating in our home area of Fairfield County.

Additional adoption info

Before you apply, confirm the following to ensure a smooth application review process:

-Residency: Applicants must be residents of Connecticut.
-Age: Applicants must be 21 years of age or older.
-Landlord Approval: If renting, confirm that your rental agreement allows for cats. Provide landlord contact information for verification if applicable.
-Kittens: Kittens must be adopted in pairs or be adopted to a house with another cat.
